Forgive me if I get this slightly wrong. It’s basically vintage fashion with a science fiction twist to it with an element of steam power to it. Years ago I did a lot of it with an ex girlfriend. It’s a lot of fun and only limited by your imagination. Everyone is really friendly and the costumes are amazing I’ve even seen people with mini flame throwers (health and safety look away 😂) it’s now alongside Whitby goth weekend which I went to years ago and really enjoyed. Everyone is really friendly and you get talking to a lovely set of people. I was highly tempted to get into again seeing everyone have a lot of fun. Combined with the railway and steam train it made for a real spectacle

Thank you for explaining this to me. I am not ignorant as I was before. It is a great opportunity to dress up and socialise.
@simonhampson5082Ай бұрын
These are weekends when sad people (who dress up as people who never ever really existed) walk around wondering why they decided to turn up in the first place. Often, they will have forgotten to turn the oven off or where their glasses are. They don't actually do anything, they produce no art, music or contribute to society in any way.

You know, in the officially well-knowingly obviously famously well-known Rev W Awdry's Railway Series book titled Enterprising Engines, Flying Scotsman himself was basically mentioned to be Gordon the Big blue livery-paintwork carrying the official #4 L N E R class A0 Pacific type of steam-driven railway tender locomotive designed in the town of Doncaster during the official 192Os as a prototype of the well-known L N E R class A1 Pacific type of steam-driven railway tender locomotive designed by Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley himself alongside his own official successor named Arthur Peppercorn himself! Speaking of which, there's actually an official Peppercorn L N E R class A1 Pacific type of steam-driven railway tender locomotive named Tornado that officially got built in the year of precisely 2OO8 respectfully following the other members of the class that officially were sentenced to the scrapyard to get cut up into pieces by the Scrapper's torch not long following nationalization of Great Britain's railway system!

When I went recently, the NER Long Boiler was housed in this shed in a very untidy condition, with it’s funnel removed and covered in grey tarpaulin. No clue if the NRM plan to move it to another museum or if they’re keeping it to one side during the renovations as there’s no room for it in the great hall. Henry Oakley is also still waiting behind the wall, and I believe it will stay there until the construction ends.
