Ooooh… I havent watched all of Earthspark, so I haven’t seen this episode, but like… man… the “sorry old friend” hurts SO bad if only because that sounds PAINFULLY like something Optimus would say to Megatron. It sounds like Earthspark dropped the ball in some ways but if this episode and the ones that follow are half as good as this storyboard I’m willing to actually finish this show.

Good job... but. I'm very sad to see this as a young man and to see this as an adult knowing all bad intentions the woke agenda that the play has, the reality of the world and how it moves the Overton window to the left. It's a shame, beautiful music tied to bullshit far left agenda from the mentally ill.

There are! I've thought about posting the longer version of the fight between Grimlock and JB as well as an alternate sequence from 25 where Thrash, JB, and Hashtag get taken out by Mandroid and the Sharkticons. Both of those need to be timed out first (so it looks good as a movie instead of looking like a slideshow). I'm a bit busy this month, but may be able to get them together next month! Amazing work!! I was wondering what software is used to create the storyboards? Your understanding of composition and backgrounds, as well as dynamic movement is amazing!

Thank you so much! I used Toon Boom Storyboard Pro for this. Storyboard Pro is the current go-to for boarding in American TV animation. (Feature film artists often still use Photoshop.)

Honestly Earthspark wasted such incredible potential. The writing was mid, but every other element was golden. The plot concepts, the character designs, the animation, the music, the casting, all of it was so solid. It’s easily the best looking Transformers cartoon ever made. Give it scripts closer to those of Prime, and you’ve got one of the best Transformers shows ever. Imagine if Earthspark had a smaller cast and higher stakes, with proper story arcs and villains that were actually interesting. Imagine if themes like trauma and postwar life were truly explored. It was the writers refusal to show us depth and consistency that killed this series

This is one of my favorite earthspark episodes, I love getting to see your storyboards!! I love the expressions, Alex is precious in this but the others are just- they're so funny XD (thrash and bee are so silly in this lol) I can tell you put a lot of effort into the bit for bumblebee missing the shot, you really planned it out and it's so wonderfully clear~ the face journey he takes at 1:13 to 1:15 WAS TOO FUNNY LMAO i love the final verison too but this one is just as good 😂

I really like the bit where alex and dot don't pressure nightshade about not feeling ready to call them dad and mom yet, they're probably some of my favorite parent characters in animation! I get why the bit with nightshade leaving during tag was cut out though, it was a bit too drawn out and weird that alex/bumblebee didn't notice nightshade leaving. The visual of them standing still while everyone was playing and them mentioning not wanting an alt-mode was really nice set up for later tho <3
