Absolutely going to buy one of these for my urban go-bag and seek training from my local rock climbing/abseiling business..

You really need to get a bigger cage. Do you realize how cramped he is? He is always bending his head not good. If you look on Facebook Marketplace where you can look for " free bird cage" look do some research of people in your area that might be offering up a bird cage. You can also look on ebay. I realize how expensive bird cages can be. If you look around you might be in luck! Your bird seems very happy. Cockatiels need human interaction. Have you tried taking him out for a while with you holding him?

Your bird' cage is away too small!! He might be frustrated too and want out? His eyes look grumpy. I know when my bird is not happy, his eyes are slanted.

isn't that cage way too small? In sweden, we have a law saying that for a bird the leangth of a cockatiel, your cage needs to be a square meter in size

I was thinking the same thing. If the bird is let out during the day though & is not kept in there except for nighttime sleeping it's ok.

Kinda, i mean you would go for another ride down to the ground like a spy or some crap. besides i think the owners of the park would give you a free ride if that were to actually happen, which i really don't think there's much chance of. because parks usually have to pass safety inspections before they can just let people on rides.

My bird is a parakeet and she's female. She is by a window with Wild birds. She bangs too, glad she's not trying to escape or mad. This is normal?

My cockatiel is a female, and she loves to make noise. She does this, but instead of just tapping she makes the cage vibrate in a rhythmic beat. Like a wood pecker but....in intervals? Shes funny.

@asazisc Oops, I meant to say "Tapping is common IN male cockatiels..." XD

Tapping is common male cockatiels. Mine does it for two reasons. Sometimes he does it when he's tired and doesn't want me to disturb him (in this case, he's in his cage and it's territorial). When he's out of his cage, though, he'll do that either to flirt, or just to play. He loves hanging out on the keyboard and doing this.

Also when they are happy and try to imitate you like when you are typing or doing something similar. My cockatiel does that all the time, also it has to do with hormones

Apparently it's a sign of ownership, mainly a male behaviour. When they bang their beaks on something, they're saying "this is mine".
@malakehsarah15 жыл бұрын
Wow. lol. My cockatiel looks pretty much like yours and started doing that recently. I was worried about her and dont understand what it means when they do that. But I'm glad my bird isnt the only one that does that :-)
