I actually rather like Zelda and the King's voice acting in these games, and most of the NPCs as well really sell it for me. Link needs to be a little less of a dopey caricature to be taken seriously, but it's clear they were channeling the cartoon. In that context, even his lines are highly amusing. The unintentional humor in these games is off the charts. ;)
