This was on an episode of Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction. They had a plant attached to a lie detector test, exactly as Karl said. Mental.

This is from an era when they told grown up stories in films. When they went to such trouble with Julie Christe's hair, why did they leave the boys' hair so 1970-fashionably long?

Agreed. I watched Days of Heaven in Paris in 1978, the French title "les moissons du ciel". It has been one of my favorite movies since, along with other greats like Dr. Zhivago, Once Upon Time in the West. Geniuses like Terence Malick, Ennio Moricone, David Lean and Maurice Jarre, gave us some of the most beautiful films associated with music that made them eternal masterpieces.

I wonder how many people think Morricone composed the music that accompanies the credits? It would be an easy mistake to make.
@trueandika10 ай бұрын
This is aquarius from Le carnaval des animaux of Camille Saint Saens. Morricone composed the rest of the movie score.

In the German version of the movie the lyrics go "Schlaf, mein Kindchen, schlaf süß. Schlaf, mein Liebling, schlaf. Wenn der Jäger in der Nacht schleicht ums Haus und folgt dir nach, deine Mutter wacht. Schlaf, Liebling - schlaf." I never succeeded in figuring out who the singer in German was.

Can someone please solve the mystery of who sang the three Cole Porter songs in the 1972 version? It’s been discussed and speculated upon for over twenty years. There are multiple threads on the internet discussing this. I believe it was probably a studio singer working there at the time of production. It anyone has the answer, please reply.

I once said that this is my favorite movie, but it is not. Rather, I define it as my secret film, my personal film, my discovery. I always recommend it to friends and acquaintances, and they get mad at me because I make them waste two hours of their lives, they tell me it's a boring movie. For me it has a personal charm, as if it was made just for me.

Great opening to a great film. The music beautifully sets the tone for the of the movie. The theme starts menacing but then switches to a nightmarish lullaby. Beautiful score by Walter Schmann.

You need to watch only one movie from Terrence Malick to see how unique it is If you watch more movies, you will see they are all the same and you'll quickly lose patience

Terrence Malick has become a joke of a director. His recent films, to the wonder, song for song, knight of cups and tree of life, all resemble stylised aftershave commercials or acting vanity projects. UTTERLY terrible. This film was a masterpiece, though.

I love this music so much - I think I prefer the version from the chase scene better but both are mesmerising. The amazing band Shack did a tune called "Walter's Song" that was based on / inspired by this. Released on their album "Waterpistol", which is an absolutely perfect pop record in every way.
