Good review. 👌 I disagree with you on this 😂 I actually enjoyed this period of Avengers. Proctor was truly mad because his activities could have unravelled the multiverse. I also enjoyed when the Black Knight travelled to the Ultraverse and led Ultraforce. The Ultraforce/Avengers crossover was superb too. We had Thor crossover into the Ultraverse too in the GODWHEEL mini series. Continuity was also tight because I remember Captain America struggling because his Super Soldier serum was breaking down but he didn't tell anyone in the Avengers which was revealed in the Captain America book. I also enjoyed the return of the restored Avengers Mansion at the end of the Procter saga ( although I did hate THE CROSSING that came after lol 😆)

I'm mostly liked his run but the art work I felt very unsettling. I'm not sure if there is a single artist I like from this run. Maybe it was just the style they had to follow and it's not their fault, in that case, I still didn't care for it. I hated how long Jean stayed gone for too, but that wasn't really his fault. The next writer could have fixed that.

I think Hickman had a sprawling plan, they (Hickman and Marvel) began to work on plans for X-Men shortly after Secret Wars ended (2015) they spent three years planning X-Men, which launched in 2019. My theory is that the political nature of where Hickman was going to take X-Men was going to be too volatile for Marvel during 2020 which was when they began to nerf him off X-men and replace him with Dugan.
