@@DarrenSteele-mx3ks you are welcome. Someone needed to make a good video. I was gonna make a video on timing but lost the video I recorded. Was gonna do a timing belt as well. Oh well, sold the truck.

Many thanks. I used a smoke machine to find any vacuum leaks on my 98 Pathfinder 3.3L (am having random mostly mild misfires at RPMs above 2,000). There seems to be one coming from the bottom of the distributor, like where it rests on the block. Is there a seal there that can leak air? Or somewhere very near it? I can't see exactly where its from. Thanks.
@bertrenolds53 ай бұрын
@@thesetruths1404 been a while since I pulled mine and I sold the truck but I think there may have been a seal since the distributor does bolt into the motor. Pull it off it's pretty easy. Just follow my video

BEST VIDEO! Been going crazy with the misfire. I always have change de distributor, but never knew about the dot, and last time didn't put it right for doing it fast. THIS SOLVE EVERYTHING! THANKS! If you feel it doesn't respond when accelerating, rotate clockwise with the bolt on(engine off), then try it. BLESS YOUR SOUL BUDDY! 👌🤌🔥🤘👏💪🙏

This video worked on my 1999 Mercury Villager/Nissan Quest. Same engine. One thing to note is that there were misleading notches on the exact opposite side of where the correct, "yellow" notch is for TDC. Once we figured that out, we were golden. Thank you for the post.

@ yes it worked and after completed it seemed too easy. I had to do this in a strip mall parking lot and it took 15mins for the whole procedure. I had to do a quick wipe on my crank pulley to clean it up a bit so I could see the marks better. Other than that still driving the old quest around till this day.

Good review on this! is there a way to test the distributor on the 3.3l engine frontier
@bertrenolds54 жыл бұрын
They are supposed to throw a code but they don't always. Since the coil is built into the distributor you just replace the whole thing. My truck ran like crap before I replaced it. They are cheap enough that if you suspect a bad distributor to just replace it. You could get an inline spark tester and test every cylinder.
