Idk for two years the left just burned down cities for no reason. Every value they want and "stand for" is immoral while hiding behind a facade of morality and virtue. There can be no peace with such degenerates.

Just admit it: postmodernism was constructed, entirely intentionally, as a desperate attempt to save socialism/communism by dismantling the capitalist, Christian-ethos West at its core, nothing more. There is no "truth"? - piss off, that's puerile.

It's hilarious to hear the 1919 socialist revolution described as a "counter revolution." I'm sure if the SPD leadership had survived the war they would contend that this was the counter revolution, and they'd be right. How someone can describe a socialist civil war this way is hilarious to me.

The fetishization of revolutionary violence is generally a problem with radicals of all stripes. Violence is only to be used out of necessity or as a last result, but many seem to completely reject reformism or even political organizing in favor of revolutionary violence.

I am a game developer and I consider games to be art*. There are many artistic elements that go into making a game. Examples are modelling, music, textures, storywriting, and much more. But this is not what I am referring to: I am reffering to a) the art of combining all this art into a cohesive entity that works and b) the vision of the game, mostly related to the feelings the artist wants the players to feel and the thoughts the artists wants the players to reflect over. a and b are similar, but not identical. A notable example of this distrinction is the game "The Beginner's Guide", where visually much of the game is not very appealing and not very cohesive, but all this plays into the vision of the game. What I see in AI art is the potential of democratisation** of a and b. Because it allows game designers to create art in the abstractions of a and b, even if they do not have the capital to pay for artists and their work. My point is that art can be done at different levels of abstractions, and even if you use AI art in an unartistic manner, it still have great potential for art in higher levels of acstractions. *: It is of course an idealised version of games that I am taking about. For many games (in particular non-indie games), games are not a medium for an artist to express themselves, but rather a means of making money. Loot boxes, dlcs/expansions, mathematical modelling of player's behavior, and much more are all used to manipulate the player in different ways. Whether it is to keep their attention, make them use their money, or just shove dopamine into the player's brains at exactly the correct intervals to keep them hooked. It is all done to make profits, at the expense of so many things and is very predatory to the players. Not to mention the moral values, habits, and cultural understanding that is shaped by these games at large scale. Games in the current industry are usually incredibly immoral and these are not what I am talking about. **: I also need to point out that this idealised way of looking at art is fundamentally anti-capitalist and is assuming a non-capitalist society. Because right now we are experiencing the same thing as always happens with automisation: layoffs. We can potentially create many more things given this new form of automasation, but instead it is used to funnel capital into capitalists at the expense of the workers.

The problem with ai art is that is made to replicate already existing art. If it ends up displacing other forms of art it will be really bad because we will end up in a cultural stagnation

In my country, Japan, two groups that split off from the same organization, the Revolutionary Communist League National Committee and the Revolutionary Communist League Revolutionary Marxist Faction, engaged in a bloody conflict that left over 60 people dead and thousands injured. This is a bit like Monty Python, which is hilarious, but unfortunately, it is not known abroad, since most of the literature has not been translated into English. lol The RCLNC also fired mortar rounds at a summit meeting of industrialized nations in Tokyo in 1986.They are, to put it mildly, more interesting than the JRA. Incidentally, both organizations are still active today, and both have some 4,000 members.

I am likely going to piss some people off, but I don't really care. I don't believe "terrorism" is a real thing. What people call "terrorism" is simply people being fed up with systemic incompetence, in response rebelling against the system violently. It's the result of the foolish and oppressive manipulation of the civilians of a nation. In this, i believe calling a movement "terrorism" is reductive and fails to take into consideration what motivated said movement to begin with.

I think when you talk about terrorism, even in the modern context, terrorism refers to the people who are using violence when they are outside of the monopoly. And if that’s the thing, I think people forget about the state because the state signifies that monopoly, but state is saying that it has a legitimate right to For its purpose. I think to put it in better contacts for today. I will ask how is capitalism use that same form of violence to accomplish it means in point the Congo we are OK Israel to bomb innocent civilians because they they might be people who are fighting against capitalist forces capitalist, and neo liberal forces among them. However, the Congo is a direct example of capitalism terrorizing the population in order to keep a monopoly on resources, who sponsors the CIA will have anything to say or all of that that they are doing ter terroristic or are we just gonna say well it’s the empire

Being familiar with Theology there are parallels to what the Bible teaches about the nature of existence. John 3 kjv. The Lord Christ says, all must be born from above from God. Born of the wombs water. And only in that order does anyone ascend back to where they came. Once then a judgement to mortal or immortal. People only talk and dance around The Truth. No one every directly addresses it. Like that bald kid, don't tramp in the spoon.

"condition of postmodern society". What if that and many terms like it, are nothing but simulations? Just ways to wax poetic, among non poets. Yet never revealing to the audience any real information. Baudrillard may not have liked The Matrix movie. But, at least it attempted some conclusion. Baudrillard nor anyone never really gets to any root causes. Do they? They're all just dancing around The Truth. None participate in it.

I think we should revise the new-left movement again and with more detail because I feel we have currently the same problem and disconnection between the workers and the students. The main problem I find is that students just fight to see which one is the most extremist leftist with the "best take" and what Lenin or Mao said (forgetting to analyze their works and actions to adapt it, rejuvenize them and improve them) instead of reaching to the working class and, the working class doesn't even know how to say "no" (not even express disagreement, let alone doing a strike or sabotage the line of production).

There's this one animation I saw that fascinated me using AI art by alan resnick called stream_of_consciousness.ani thats fucking beautiful. AI art is an artform but so is someone smearing shit on the wall. People automatically assume that the word art means it must have some kind of nobility and exquisitiveness to it when its just a descriptor of something a human has created or has had some process in the creation of.

Decent point, but the problem is not whether AI can be done artfully. The reality is that it will NEVER be largely used for that purpose. It is made, seen, and used as a shortcut to all other artistic mediums, not just a harmless new experimental technology to be enjoyed for its own merits. Even in the case of the painters justifying their own replacement by photography, the reality is that photography did replace them in many ways, and removed opportunities for them to contribute to their society. What AI wants to do, and badly at that, is what photography did to painting - but to ALL art forms, many of them in the professional world. We are already seeing companies replace their human graphic and web designers by training AIs on their own content to push them out of the equation. Art is not just a passive past time for making pretty images, it's a craft and a vocation that contributes an enormous chunk of the way our current society communicates. Icing out the humans responsible for this by using their own works against them, to me, means there is a whole different ballgame here than just "can AI fuckery be pretty on its own merits."

The paradox is that artists with all the control methods available could create astonishing creative works and push boundaries of creativity by using AI for their own advantage, but majority of artists have come to the conclusion that this technology here is only to replace them. It’s heartbreaking to see that people are seeing it this way.

It can't though. As an (in my opinion) decent digital artist, I have spent many hours playing with stable diffusion and it has largely left me disappointed. There is a very real information limit to how much information you can fit into a text prompt, and the network is always necessarily going to have to fill in gaps in your prompting. Even img2img, controlnet, inpainting, and all the other addons that exist don't give you back the level of creative control you have when working with your hands. There is very little that genAI can do for artists that they can't do already. I think this video is interesting and thought provoking, but I wish that he would have gone over how people approach AI art from the perspective of a consumer rather than as a creator - you imagine something and type in a prompt, then the network spits an image out and your expectations adjust to fit the image. You're less of an artist and more of a director in that regard, your work is a product of dialogue between yourself and the network and is never really an unalloyed good. The only thing that genAI provides for artists is the ability to put out uninspired, glazed over pieces much much faster, and it does so at the expense of a significant amount of creative control and all of the intentionality which is vital for visual arts in the first place.
