If your root bridge is DSW2 and hsrp fails over to DSW1 how would that forwarding path update at layer 2?

Thanks for your question. If DSW2 is the root, and the active forwarder for the HSRP group is DSW1, then you’ll have traffic go to DSW2, then over to DSW1 via the direct links between the distribution layer switches. This is actually one of the main reasons why you have those links between the distribution layer switches… if you happen to get traffic to the wrong device, it shoves it over to the other device at the same layer for forwarding. This is also why you want to have a pretty beefy link between the devices… so using an LACP bundle with 2 or 4 links is pretty reasonable (or using 10/40Gb links).

@@StormWindStudios That is beefy. But if HSRP fails over the active forwarder for a good reason and the root bridge is the broken switch... I mean you can see where I'm going with this. Doesn't having dynamic gateways and a static forwarding path spell trouble?

Thanks Ashley. I guess with your review based on "received yesterday" you'd not really read much when recording this (after all its 1,000 pages between the two guides.) IMHO the re-positioning to emphasis in Ch 1-2-3 that 'project is management of change', to link projects to the full context of benefits and the consequential explicit breadth of the pm role is in fact a seismic shift. The implications for the exam and for the roles of people in organisations from leadership downwards are profound. I think we are seeing pmi expand their position to claim to be defacto occupier of all territory project related after years of increasingly being seen as a purveyor of what is hyped as yesterday's insight.

what is PMP ?
@StormWindStudios
@StormWindStudios 6 жыл бұрын
PMP relates to the certification exam that you can take in Project Management (also known as PM). Once you complete your PMP certification you become a certified Project Management Professional or PMP. It's a professional designation that the Project Management Institute (PMi) controls. We offer training that helps students pass their PMP exam.
