How do you get the belt off of the pullies that have the guides on them.? I think they're called tension Pullies.

You should be able to push against it and it will relieve the pressure.

Use a 9/16 socket wrench on top of the idler pulley and one below to loosen it. Then once belt is on tighten it up

Thank you! I ran over one of the dogs toys, so I wanted to fix it myself and I didn’t wanna have to take the deck off because that looked like… More than I was willing to do ha ha!

What size deck, 42"? Went to the link, supposedly doesn't fit an xt1 42" deck. This is definitely quicker than pulling the dek.

Would’ve been helpful to not edit out the clamp of the fuel filter line with pliers so as to not get gas everywhere

The best way to clamp it off is to use vice grips.

We do a complete service once a year. The belt was changed last summer when it broke.

You don't need to take the engine cover off to change the spark plug. All you need to do is remove the hood for easy access.

You should start / warm up the engine before draining the oil. Warm oil drains faster.

Running the engine also gets the particulate matter (small metal shavings, burnt oil particles, etc.) circulating and suspended in the oil to make sure you get that stuff out with the old oil.
