Fantastic mate never seen such excellent vid showing the elevation of those roads

Thanks John, duller day helps to show the elevations, was pleased with the look back down the Corkscrew with the campervan struggling up the hill. 👍

Really enjoyed the trip over the Struie, brought back memories of commuting to college in Inverness from Brora in the 70’s, before the firth bridges, on a DT 175 in the winter. The road looks in a bit better condition now that it did then. Looking forward to the next trip. What is your front facing camera mounted on ? Cheers Derek

Hello Highland ADV, I recognised the road down to New Bridge on your thumbnail instantly, I live in Ardross. Like you I recommend avoiding the A9 between Alness and Dornoch, the Struie Road is much more fun and as you said there are plenty of great roads you can ride to get back to the NC500. Cheers, 5dT

Another great watch Alec, although with more pangs of homesickness - this was my short coach excursion from Strathpeffer - with a very similar commentary! 😊 Keep 'em coming and stay safe (from road-ragers!) 👍

Nice scenic ride again Alec. I travelled that road a few times on my old Tiger, whilst my coach was parked up for a couple of days at Gairloch. Happy days back then - good to see my old haunts thanks. Martin. 👍

Hi Alec, still playing catch-up here and this one really does make me homesick! Believe it or not, the Applecross/Bealach na Ba trip was a regular coach excursion from my base at The Gairloch Hotel, until 2016, when the hotel was sold, and which coincided with the upsurge of traffic on the NC 500. We just couldn't do it these days obviously - the roads are just sooo much busier. Great video thanks. (Incidentally, I don't know if you've ever been over to Raasay, but it's worth the trip to see Calum's Road.) 😎

Beautiful ride there Alec, I was last out there 12 years ago on my 955i Tiger, on my days off from work with the coach at Gairloch. Out combining exploring on the bike with topping as many peaks as I could during my time up there. The campsite at Cannich is by far my favourite. Cheers for this one. 👍

A marvellous start to your channel Alec! I've worked back to start from the beginning, so it's going to be interesting to see it develop. You're in a wonderful neck of the woods up there, with so much juicy material on your doorstep. Most of my 20years up there was driving a tour-coach, so I missed out on some of the best roads. Great to watch, cheers. 👍

I have the identical motorcycle - same colour and late 2021. Ridden 22,000 km in 2 years. Before that had the 2015 model (bought second hand) and rode 20,000 km on that one in two years. Phenomenal motorcycle - most enjoyable motorcycle I've owned in the 53 years I've been riding. Comfortable, smooooth, never missed a beat, super economical (currently reading 3.3L/100 km (85mpg)),aesthetically gorgeous and sooo versatile - great off road (in the bush but not technical stuff) and on road (ample power to cruise on 110 - 130 kph comfortably for hours on end). The Swiss Army Knife of motorcycles. I anticipate riding at least 100,000 km on this machine ..... 🦘

Sorry mate did not catch the year 2020 or 2019? Do you feel the bike was top-heavy? I have a 2019.... modification I lower/shaved the seat down a little.. as I am 5-7... Both feet hit the ground on the fore foot completely now... wear boots of course.. I am ready for my 24K Service, with the major RnR will be the drive chain.. front and rear sprockets and chain... Cheers mate from Southern Thailand...

Hello from the Pacific Northwest of America. Great video, looks like home in Oregon. What drone are you using? I have the Mavic mini 2. It's a fun little drone with good range. The same thing that makes me interested in the CBX, a fun smaller adv bike with good mileage and good range.
@highlandadv81998 ай бұрын
Hi Thanks for the compliments, its a DJI Mini 2 SE drone, good little drone which compact for the bike and has decent wind operation capabilities for our Scotland weather. The CB500X is the best for road and gravel roads and is certainly fantastic on the single track roads we ride on mostly.
