Also it seemed that some of the reassembly wet out of order to the disassembly. A voice over addition would be great.

Yes I agree they made it really nice much better than the old model. I would have a really hard time choosing between the 629 and this new anaconda if I could only have 1 but I'd still choose the Smith because if ever needed the parts are easy to find
@swatbwana
@swatbwana Ай бұрын
I would not choose a new Smith with lock over this, the new smiths are filled with MIM and compromises the heavy duty Cylinder of the new Colt and frame are better than the Smith. @@rustyrestorationww1ww2

I just bought a 72 Ranchero myself, Mines green though, I got a smoking deal on it, He wanted $3500 for it plus he had a 2 door 2000 Pontiac Grand-Am that he wanted $1500 for and I bought them $4,000. I took the deal mainly because my grandson that lives with me is about to turn 12 and he's going to need a car here a couple years anyway plus I can drive the Grand Am while I get the Ranchero done then I can park the Grand-Am and we will still have time to work on it when he needs it. Not bad considering I didn't even have the Grand-Am on my radar so either way you look at it I got $1000 by doing a package deal, He had them listed seperately and had not even gottan a message about the Grand-Am, A 2 door grand am is pretty rare to see for sale.

@rustyrestorationww1ww2

It is pressed in so in order to remove it you will have to use a punch and risk damaging your python. If you have a good gunsmith they should be able to do it no problem. Why do you want to remove it?

one of the best videos I've seen in years ... answered many questions and concerns .. impressed with the newer engineering of the python compared to the older version. They changed a lot more thinigs than I imagined .. and now that price don't seem too high. Good job on the visual comparison of parts. The new seems quite interesting to me, yet I would not trade my old Pythons for new .. as they just work so smooth. Definitely not a refinement of old design, but almost a new design

I’m trying to get this old Iver Johnson break top ready to replate, after I get this old nickel and rust off. I picked up this stuff called Santeen Drain Opener, says it’s just sulfuric acid and water. What do you think? Also, the reading I’ve done mostly says it’s better to copper plate it prior to the nickel. Do you find this to be the case or no?
@rustyrestorationww1ww2
@rustyrestorationww1ww2 3 ай бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response. Yes the sulfuric acid will work but don't forget the 12v battery and sacrifice piece of ledd to remove the plating. Also if you leave it in the acid too long it will destroy the gun. Yes always brass plate first the nickel
