The 2005 MiWay have served in the City of Mississauga for almost 20 years. Just like the Scarborough RT have served in the eastern district of Scarborough for almost 40 years. Both MiWay 05s and 06s have retired around the time TTC was closing down the Scarborough RT Line that opened back in March 1985. As of January 2024, the entire D40LFs MiWay series have retired after 20 years of service in the City of Mississauga. I wanted to take the 2005 MiWay on 3 BLOOR during the holidays in 2019 and 2022 and the 2007 MiWay on 3 BLOOR in September 2022 since I will be living in Mississauga for college and for work. MiWay 0501 - 0572: R.I.P 2005 - 2023 18 years of service in the City of Mississauga. The 2005 MiWay have served at Islington for most of the years they were in service and had green PRESTO card machines inside back in the late 2010s so the new buses that will be replacing them will only have black PRESTO card machines. Rest in Peace and Farewell MiWay D40LFs you guys will be greatly missed and I will remember the time I rode on you all during the holidays in 2019 and 2022.

The 07 D40LFRs are the only ones left with the brown chocolate covered seats and the 07-08 D40LFRs are the only ones left with orange stripe livery and I heard both are supposed to be replaced by more XDE40s buy the end of this year so that will also end another era in the MiWay fleet.

The 2005 MiWay are my favorite buses on the 3 BLOOR started in late spring of 2019 and I really enjoyed taking them during the Christmas holidays in 2019 and 2022. I will for sure miss those buses.

I agree because when the 2005 MiWay gets really old then they would need to be fixed so much and by the end of 2023 both 2005 and 2006 MiWay has been taken out of service so as of 2024 the 2007 MiWay are the only buses left with the brown chocolate covered seats in service and 2007/2008 MiWay are the only buses left with orange stripe livery. I got to enjoy some rides on the 2005 MiWay 3 BLOOR once during the holidays in 2019 and twice in September and the holidays in 2022. @@torontotransitguy

MiWay is retiring diesel buses that are in perfect condition to last another 5 years (maybe not the 05s they were old but like the 07s and 08s) for hybrid buses that will last only half of a diesels life time. It’s not worth it when they are in good condition still
