Everything River did was to get Johnny to remember their first meeting, including cutting her hair short to help look closer to how she did when they first met. He loved her because she was different than everyone else, and she loved him because he made her feel the same as everyone else. Eva wasn't being coldhearted when she moved River, she realized it wasn't Johnny's wish they needed to fulfill, but River's which was to get him to remember why he wanted to go to the moon. It finally happens after the credits start to roll, when you see River already waiting and then Johnny fades in to join her. The story actually touched Eva as much as it did Neil, you can tell from her ringtone in the very final scene, which was audio she ripped from Johnny's song to River, even though, as Neil pointed out, that practice is apparently illegal.

@@littlebylittlecrochet It took me a few times watching it to figure that out. There's a lot of little points like that the game doesn't come out and just tell you, like that or why she cut her hair. A lot of people I've watched never really put it together that Johnny assimilated parts of Joey's personality like the affinity for Animorphs or pickled olives as a result of the mental trauma and beta blockers. Even though he didn't like those things himself, he believed he did. Or that she chose to forego treatment so that he could stay with the lighthouse and someday remember why it meant so much to her. Him remembering was more important to her than her own life, that's how much she loved him, she just couldn't convey it.

@@ShindoKokoro it’s incredibly powerful. The way you articulate it makes much more sense to even me who played it. I just was so amazed by the story it was hard to put into words all of the little things I started to notice about how River did what she did for Johnny. Also, the reason of why Johnny was obsessed with the pickled olives and Animorphs due to trauma and beta blockers, it’s all just really good detail. I really enjoyed this game and how in depth it was. I’m very glad I was able to play it myself.

@@littlebylittlecrochet Yeah the game really made a big impact on me. I've been scouring youtube just watching people react to it, even in other languages. Excited for the sequel, Finding Paradise to release sometime soon on the Switch, and the 3rd game, Impostor Factory, is almost done with development.
