These places care nothing for our pets! Over vaccinate, over medicate, give preventatives that are very dangerous. I've been seeing this in my area. I have no options left. I am educating myself and treating my dog myself. I've experienced way too many tragedies going to these evil monsters. That's what they are. I'm trying to create a community in my area of pet parents to help each other and learn from one another's strengths. I recommend we all do this.

This is a bad take. If you worked in a practice 10 years ago you should know the industry isn't here to get rich off clients. I work with veterinary practices all day and everyone I know is trying to do the best they can. The trouble is you have to pay your staff well to keep them, costs are rising dramatically for everything including the land/building to have a practice. When your receptionist/csr can go to walmart or whole foods and get a 20/hr job why should they work in a practice making 14/hr? Techs and associates deserve to be paid for their skill, compassion and putting the blame on the practice isn't the way to do it. Veterinary School costs upward of 300K in today's market to become a vet. You have to pay enough to service the debt and pay for cost of living. This type of content isn't helpful to the industry and if you're upset about it please open a low cost practice and start helping the pet parents who need care.

You need to cover the unnecessary ingredients like Rosemary extract! This has caused no end of problems to my breeding females...once I researched its effect on pregnant women I was shocked and knew it was why I was having still born pups and troubled whelps.

100% agree with this and can't stand those corporate places. My dog had a stroke and I knew he needed a pred shot but it was after hours so I had to take him to the emergency vca hospital. Not only did this vet tell me that she couldn't do anything without doing a $4k MRI- which was not an option financially for me-I knew what he needed but she had to rule everything else out before she could give him a pred shot. Instead, she gave me some anti-nausea meds and a $500 bill. I took my dog to my regular vet the next day. He gave him the pred shot after looking at him and told me to throw away the anti-nausea meds because they did more harm than good. I HATE corporate America. They don't actually care. The bottom line is money and not care. This is also the problem with generalized healthcare for people here in the US too. My vets exam fees have doubled since I started going to him 10 years ago. $65 then / $120 now. I've had to find a new vet.

On April 16th I woke up to find my little dog had a 4' long piece of string hanging out of his butt. Blood everywhere. I called every Vet clinic within 30 miles of me, starting with my regular vet (of almost 20 years). Every single one said, "We're busy, call someone else." Every. Single. One. I have always been a good payer and keep a Care Credit card specifically for Veterinary emergencies, and my credit score is pushing 800. It didn't matter. No one would make time for him. So, I started driving around and just carrying him in so they could see how bad it was and have to look me in the eye when they told me their non-emergency appts were more important. Eventually, at 11:20 a.m. I found ONE that was willing to see my dog at 2 p.m. He died in my arms at 12:40 p.m. whimpering, gasping, and convulsing. It was a nightmare. I had adopted him only 7 months earlier. Now I'm afraid to adopt another dog because I've completely lost faith in the area veterinarians.

@@VeterinarySecrets it’s the same with human healthcare, it’s just a business to make money, it’s up to us all to educate ourselves and hopefully keep ourselves healthier and our pets too. The smaller practices had vets that showed they did care, but health is a conveyer belt system now. My cat died a last year, for the last few years of his life I fed him mainly good raw meat, some cooked meat, no more kibble. I wish I’d learned sooner, but the damage was done, I was lucky though because he never went to the vets and when he died he found his favourite place to rest. If I ever have a cat again it will be meat from the beginning and hopefully no vets.

Woke and big pharma have gotten involved in many places where we spend our money, pet vacs and food as well, even our own vitamins. If smells fishy, has toxic stuff in it and it’s killing us, they’re usually suspect. You are your best doctor and your pets as well. It is good to learn about herbs for your and your pets health. Beware, most times we don’t need doctors and all the “toxic crap “ they are pushing to us. Garden, grow and make your own food if you can, and your dogs food. It’s not hard and you know what’s in it, learn how right here on yt.
@VeterinarySecrets2 сағат бұрын
Certainly! It's important to be cautious of the influence of big pharma in areas like pet care and supplements. Learning about natural remedies and growing your own food can empower you to make healthier choices for both yourself and your pets.

i really appreciate your educational videos my cat was diagnosed with having kidney stones or type of calcified materials in her kidneys for a period of a year on and off she would urinate outside her litter box i took her to a cat only veterinary practice they put her on a low ash diet (basically prescription diet called Urinary Calm by Royal Canin) she started snubbing the canned version I threw away so many canned food... but I'm very concerned about feeding her the dried version all the time. and she is kind of addicted to those treat foods i am certain those are not good for her. i would love to see more videos on diet raw food vs home made vs canned (I am certain not all canned foods are ok either) thank you for all your information and education

I'm glad the videos are helpful. Dealing with your cat's kidney issues sounds tough. It's understandable to worry about her diet. Exploring raw or homemade options could help. I'll consider making more videos on cat diets. Thanks for caring so much about your cat's health!
