Fun fact: The spotter for the Proton Mustang GT3 that crashed was sitting at that corner in turn 5. He was at our tent for a good portion of the race until we left.

7am to 3pm , 3pm to 11pm and 11pm to 7am , they get paid to have lunch or half a lunch while on duty. Off duty and Auxiliary Traffic cops get paid OT for special events. Every locale is slightly different but that's basically how it goes.

As an F1 fan I think of rain as something that makes the races more interesting. Why do you avoid wet racing at Indy? Is it a safety thing? Btw, traditional wedding cake, which is full of sugar, steeped with alcohol and coated in sugar icing, will keep pretty much forever in an air-tight container. Keeping a tier for the firstborn's christening party used to be a thing in the UK.
@JobiWanKenobi8044 күн бұрын
yes, if they raced at indy in the rain someone would die, or the race would be red flagged every other lap. They do run in the rain when they are on a road course, but not ovals.

Like #95 Watching you on F1 COTA Sky coverage; today you interviewed Max V, pole sitter and extraordinary driver (#2 Best on Earth after Kyle Larson) and his "special" [cheating] car (yawn). . . .you are the best. Always look foreword to seeing you on TV: Great vid as always. 17:39; sorry Mr. Rossi, James is not an idiot. I also watched Petite LeMans with the lights going out on the car during dark, night racing !!!! And the car crash that was so dangerous. Anyway, keep up the good work !!!

One other thing, about the crash that took R. Taylor out while leading. That was really bad. To be clear, a bit different from what James said, RT said he didn't see the car AT ALL. A replay from his in-car camera showed the cars he was following, a whole little group including GT cars he wanted to pass, and it was like : CAR!-BANG. I'm thinking he did see the car, but virtually as he was about to hit it, like a matter of milliseconds between seeing the car and hitting it. It could have been REALLY BAD, like the crash at Donington that cost Billy Monger his legs, or the crash at the Rolex 24 that hurt Memo Gidley so badly. Something like that really needs to not happen again.

Experience wise it’s the Incheon airport in South Korea. They have all kinds of activities you can do to participate in and learn about Korean culture. They also have excursions out of the airport planned down to the length of your layover. Restaurant wise in airports I’m not so sure because I try to avoid those due to cost, but Austin has the Salt Lick Barbecue in the airport there. That’s a really famous barbecue place near Austin.

When you review the reality of the w series and the F1 academy drivers. The only female who has the talent and has gone forward is Jamie Chadwick and she dominated and is the only champion of the series which proves Katherines point. Katherine has won multi car races, set fastest laps and also won pole positions in her career. All drivers develop and that is a crucial part of becoming the best racing driver you can be so when you compete you are one of the fastest on track. I do not watch Nascar so when Danica left Indycar all I know is she got a very hard time. Her indycar results when you watch them back are still not matched. Her talent at racing wheel to wheel making passes in the top 10 consistently and leading the Indy500 and finishing highest of 3rd. Danica Patrick currently holds the record for the best finish by a female at the Indy 500, having ended in 3rd place in 2009. The superstar is also the only woman to have ever won an IndyCar race, as she finished first at the Japan 300 in 2008. The lack of respect she receives still is something that requires changing within female motorsports, maybe she prefers to distance herself as she is retired. I really want to see Katherine in a mixed team at Le Mans in a car and team that is competitive. Sophia Flörsch Doriane Pin Abbi Pulling are hopefuls showing alot of speed now. The Iron Dames project has made history on track with wins and fastest laps and pole positions. Club racing in the uk has now female racing drivers racing males and getting results but still not alot of media coverage. Other notable female racing drivers: Lilou Wadoux Michelle Gatting Simon De Silvestro Christina Nielsen Manuela Gostner Tatiana Calderon Sarah Bovy Rahel Frey Sarah Fisher Ana Beatriz Pippa Mann Sheena Monk

"The money fell through and it's not happening" - That has happened way too many times for Katherine in her career, that and or we have no money at all. Just to still be here racing and motivated is a win and motorsport is extremely tough for fast male racing drivers let alone being a female.

31:57 "This is just a part of modern motorsports, and not being willing to understand that times are changing and this is part of that change, is really just..." 34:26 "Let's embrace the fact that we're trying something new and it's got a really, really high probability of being successful and being awesome." As someone who started following this podcast this season and found this to be the first segment I've disagreed with, I spent a few days thinking about how I want to respond. I think that what this argument is running up against is the fact that the oval-heavy portion of the later part of the season produced some exciting races, and with the exception of Streets of Long Beach, most of the street circuits that IndyCar has gone to have tended to produce dull races. There are exceptions like Iowa this year, which was dull, but that's been the overall trend. There's also the problem that IndyCar's response to fan requests that the Detroit layout be changed has been to slam the door in their faces - and the fans don't like that. I personally want to see the split that it seems like IndyCar has been going for, with a third of the races on road courses, a third on street circuits, and a third on ovals - and that they should go wherever will produce the most exciting racing. If they can do that, then the fans will come. To me, it seems that Hinch wants them to go to all street circuits because that will maximize ticket sales, and I think that what you really need is exciting races for folks to want to follow the series. Get the exciting racing first, because that's what you need to grow the sport.
