This same principle can also be used with both lama pai and pak hok pai, cuz I noticed that pa kua also has the same thing, in other words, moving in close in order to get past the impact point of the weapon 🔫, weather it's a punch 👊 or a stick.

Great stuff! Awesome presentation, well spoken as well. Gracie juijitsu is indeed prewar Judo mixed with catch as catch can and Galhofa Luta. I have studied Gracie Juijitsu and BJJ and catch wrestling and Luta Livre (I am mostly no-gi) as well as various Gung Fu styles Hop Gar, Hung Gar, Ving Chun as well as Chin-na, and JKD and Muay Thai. I am happy to see that someone agrees that not only was all of this information compared and shared but that it should be trained together again. The rules are a huge part of how systems develop. It is my belief that if every style takes a piece of the puzzle and works that, then we can better develop the best of all of it. Modern BJJ has started to become the TKD in comparison to Kickboxing of the grappling world, departing from the self preservation system that it once was.

Do catch guys not believe in putting their hands in defensive positions? It's ridiculous how many times his "uke" just left his arms dangling out in the open. Real nice of the tori to make him tap a millions times before letting go though.
