@@Barolo818 After all these years I really don't have a particular place in mind! I know that on payday a bunch of us would go the VNAF Officers Club for dinner! My favorite appetizer there was asparagus and crabmeat soup. The club was "owned by Vice President Ky It was actually on base located by the VNAF Gate entrance to TSN.

Truth be told we all needed something to forget about COVID and the tragedy it has brought to us all. You could have set up a controlled fireworks show but you didn’t so I thank everyone who actually put up a show safely for us the neighbors! My kids loves it, Thank you.

I stayed in this BEQ 1972-73. I was the last TV newsman on the air with AFVN and announced the end of the vietnam war.

I believe you are mistaken on the date. The bridge was blown in November of 1968. I was there in 92nd Engineer Battalion. I did not see the bridge because I was busy running recon on the East side of the Saigon. I was also told that it was the center section of the bridge that was dropped so I am wondering about these pictures.

the bridge was blown in November 1968. Only a day later, the float bridge was in place by the 65th, 4th and 554th Engineer Battalions and the 100th and 573rd Float Bridge Companies, but the main bridge was not repaired until 1969. The movie was taken while the pontoon bridge was stiil in place before the repairs were completed.
