Do you have any issues with cavitation at higher rpm's using this type of gear pump?
@TJussilainen23 күн бұрын
i haven't noticed any high rpm issues. i dont spend long times in high rpm. +500hp is agressive in forest/rocks i replace them usually when idle pumping performance drops. i use cheap 100e pumps

I have to rip and split logs looking yours and I also have a 550 XP mk II. The original rim on the 550 is a 0,325. I assume you've got a 3/8" rim as a spare part from a 592 (as originally found on a 585 or a 592 XP) to be able to mount the long bar and the chain. The power of the 550 XP seems to be ok in this job. On the video the engine doesn't give the impression of suffering too much. Is it getting a bit hot during the session ? That you

you do realize that this saw is only designed for a 20” bar max with .325 pitch chain? Swapping to 3/8 pitch will only slow the saw down and especially running a longer bar now. If anything you should put on a 16” bar if you’re going to do 3/8. Or just get it ported to make up the loss of power
