Michael was a regular soloist with the Blackburn Music Society in the 1970’s/80’s and was loved by all - especially my mum, dad and big sister. He kept in touch with my dad via post for many years after. Lovely man, wonderful singer and sorely missed. ❤❤

I sang with him once, I think 1968, in Ulverston, in Mendelssohn's Elijah. I sang the part of the youth - the boy who had been going to sing that could not at the last minute, so they asked me. He was so sweet to me, as I was very nervous, and I have never forgotten him.

Thank you for sharing this really beautiful music. I must be honest, I know this composer mostly by name, but after hearing this lovely music I guess I should look for more music by him. For you this must be a day of mixed emotions... I wish you a day with great memories. Small question: what was the organ June was playing for this piece? It has a really beautiful and warm sound, really nice.

Love this music, looks like not the easyest music to me. I have a question: is June wearing special shoes (organ shoes)? Started following a Dutch relatively young organist (Gert van Hoef) and read some discusssion about the type of shoes to wear playing the organ
@porippon2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jos, yes, June always wears organ shoes. She has a pair of OrganMaster shoes and a pair of Tic-Tac-Toes organ shoes. People can be notorious when it comes to what to wear and whatnot. However, it all comes down to what you feel more comfortable with. Some people prefer to play bare-footed. It just happened that June likes wearing organ shoes. It is a very individual thing.
