Thanks. I don't understand the Bb6/9. Am I just to innocent to hear that? What would be an alternative? Also, I don't get the B bass on the G9(no root) Seems likeit wants an E bass?

Great lesson. I'm trying to learn some Jazz to spice-up my R&B playing. This was wonderfully explained.

My boomer band is in process of learning this song - thanks for the EZ tutorial - I'm the guitar player. It's almost and easy song, but not quite - I'm also the singer. We also play Wooly Bully.

Thanks much for your comment. Must be cool playing this tune and Wooly Bully in a band situation.

Thanks for your question. I think the names of the chords are in the description, but if not, they are D minor 7, G7, and C major 7. Thanks again.

Just found this. I learned a lot. But I see he doesn’t have more KZbin videos. I would love To see more lessons. Anyone know where is is?
@walkerjn52 жыл бұрын
Hi Jerry, It's James (the person that made the video) I have quite a few other lessons on KZbin, many jazz related, haven't done any for quite awhile though. I think if you click on my circular photo near the subscribers# it will take you to a list of my videos, or you could do a search for, for instance, How to Play Take Five on Guitar James Nichols or something like that. Thanks for your comment, glad you found the lesson helpful.

Hi great fan of the take 5 tutorial, I don't suppose you can do a jazz version of let there be love nat Cole?

Great lesson! Everyone should listen to the live version at ACL 1979 recently released on Willie’s YT channel. Would love to see a tab on that version too

After the F#sus I also hear a B chord, at least the bass plays a B. This is the closest to the song chord wise I found so far ;-)

Thanks for taking the time to present this very useful lesson. Take 5 is a unique melody that I have always enjoyed but was bashful to attempt to play. I will start with this approach that you have made possible. All thanks to you this lesson is very accessible.

We have both beenusing the same chords. The only difference I like, is playing the A Dm7 E7 on the fifth fret sort of just picking the notes. You have to sneak a quick F note in for the Dm7.

Alright, thank you very much. But what's to be played on the theme? No chords? Just the unisono melody? I think for some parts of the theme chords could be useful, too. No?
