bedrock redstone works differently. if i knew how to make it work on both versions, id show it

Im confuse when you say the last step is to connect the power switch but idk where is the switch uou are taking about

you know the 2 blocks of dirt with the redstone and lever on it? the lever is the power switch for testing. assuming you want to move the lever somewhere else for convenience, you just connect the redstone line to wherever you put your new lever. otherwise, if you like keeping it underground/in the circuit area, you can skip that step.

Does covering the red stone part destroy the whole mechanism?

as long as you cover it with space in between the blocks and circuits, nothing should get destroyed and you will be fine
