It’s heavy for a reason helps with cutting better
@EricJemAndes
@EricJemAndes 8 күн бұрын
I’m sorry, but that’s not an accurate statement. The husky 540i is not as heavy (with battery) and still cuts as well, if not better than the MSA220. My echo 2511t (with slight modifications) cuts better/faster than my stock Ms 201 ever did and is half the weight. A saws weight isn’t as much of a determining factor in cutting speed as chain/bar measurements, clutching system design, or power/torque design. The weight difference of the MSA 220 vs the 540ixp is simply that Stihl has not refined their battery design to be as light as husqvarna. Not to mention the 540ixp is 1/2 lb lighter without the battery than the MSA 220 without a battery. Fact of the matter is, as much as I like Stihl, and feel they make great products, they are currently behind husqvarna in the professional battery powered chainsaw sector.

With light dry snow, a blower is easier. However, with wet snow I find the paddle wheels on the Kombi to be easier. Even better still, I find the Ryobi cordless power snow shovel to be even better. I have a few videos about it posted as well.

I saw someone made their barrel 24inch. If you make 36 would it affect anything? I was thinking maybe alittle more accurate but not sure
@EricJemAndes
@EricJemAndes 11 күн бұрын
I don’t really think it makes too much of a difference. The slightly longer barrel should make aiming a little easier. However, the longer the barrel, the more friction created as the bag comes out of the barrel, so you may need to increase valve and air tank volume to counteract the increased friction.

I have used it on my composit deck without issue, but I can’t guarantee anything. I snapped a Zubat blade but it was not attached to a pole. The blade took a lot of abuse. Before the blade snapped a few of the teeth broke off. This was caused by impact against some brush. I now have a better idea of the limits of the blade. Like you I realised that the broken blade could still be used for small jobs.
@EricJemAndes
@EricJemAndes Ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and the comment. Understand. I personally stopped slapping branches and deadwood with my handsaw years ago because of the same issues. Like most metals, when you have a hardened steel like the Zubat blade, and it gets bent once, it definitely starts to weaken and it’s just a matter of time before it snaps at that point.

I just bought the Exact same one from Wesspur. Only thing that I don't like is the safety clip. It is way too heavy and bulky and it jammed on me the first day of use up in a tree. Bark and twigs got into the double action mechanism and jammed it. It wouldn't open. Also I really don't like the little cable on the Rock Exotica grab, it looks like an injury accident waiting to happen
@EricJemAndes
@EricJemAndes Ай бұрын
I can definitely relate to what you’re saying about the clip. However, I will say that with a number of years of climbing now under my belt with clips similar to this one, it becomes less disconcerting and you kind of get comfortable with how they work. Meaning that you also learn how to adjust for where you’ll be climbing and what my interfere with them. I learned to just start cutting out certain brush that I knew would interfere with the clip so that it didn’t cause me a problem. It just takes time, even though, the triple action carabiners do tend to have less issue with being jammed as you mentioned.

@@EricJemAndesdo you think the hydraulic thumb is a must or can get away with the static of you are just doing your own property?
@EricJemAndes
@EricJemAndes 2 ай бұрын
@@josevelasco3245 it really depends on the work being done, how organized you can structure the work, or how much experience you have. A manually positioned thumb becomes essentially “static” once you are in the cab. Meaning that it can easily impede digging, and reach if the terrain and circumstances aren’t ideal. That all being said, the reality of it is, i needed the hydraulic thumb because I was digging out stumps and loading them in to dumpster/dump trucks/high wall trailers on a regular basis and the static thumb would allow enough clearance and still be functional for grabbing the stumps/logs. I hope that helps.

Thanks for the comment. You are absolutely correct. However, it should be noted that not all of the brands that they manufacture are designed/ built to the same quality level. Which is clear based on the plastics used, heat dissipation characteristics, tool size/weight (for a comparable power output of higher price) and significant features such as brushed vs brushless (which do inherently affect the weight as a byproduct of design).
