actually think this is a misunderstanding of what deadmau5 meant - DJs are being encouraged (but prolly not forced) to do pre-PROGRAMMED sets at festivals, not pre-recorded. which is a bit shite cos it leaves no room for reading the crowd, but whether it's pre-recorded or pre-programmed, doubt James Hype is doing either, and agree with the dude in this video, it's a major part of his brand so there's no way he'd risk that. Tbh he's got the chops & doesn't need to anyway 🤷♂

I can 100000% testify that JH doesnt do pre-recorded sets, the guy lives for the live performances. a lot of his playlists are his own edits of tunes, he said around 80% of the tunes he plays he edits to his style of DJing. By his own admission he has had some fails when playing like the CDJs glitching out (he refuses to use the CDJ3000s) and also he has no problem in showing any fails on his socials, he WANTs new djs to see that no matter how big you are that mistakes can happen! The haters always gonn-hate, its part of the game. He may not be everyones fave DJ but the guy is legit live, everytime. #WDT #RHF 🔥

He got busted a while ago. Not a big deal. Like DeadMau5 said a while ago, they all do it ag those big shows and it doesn't matter. Doesn't mean he's not a good dj.
@DaveCeeRocker9 күн бұрын
where did he get busted and how? who said that he was playing pre-recorded sets? i know he uses software that syncs with lighting (when it works properly, re: Drumsheds) but hes 100% live everytime. its the h8ers that know nothing about djing!

Well, as a vinyl dj for 3 decades I can see it's not a prerecorded set. But, to not use the sync buttons all tracks are presynced (at the same bpm) in ableton.
@hearmenow9092 ай бұрын
Why do you need to pre-sync in Ableton, you can just sync on the CDJ.
@Tarabass2 ай бұрын
@hearmenow909 because they laugh about you if you do. People find that almost as fake as pre-recordings..
@xTheWizardАй бұрын
Using the sync button is like learning to drive, but having the driving instructor changing the gears and doing the pedals for you. Also, using the sync button is embarrassing 😂
@SuperALBSUREАй бұрын
The fact that cdj’s tell you the tempo makes not using sync kind of meaningless. The whole difficult thing with vinyl mixing is NOT knowing the tempo! Starting a record on time when you know the tempo is not really a difficult thing to do. I think cdj users overhype the skill.
@NI0256Ай бұрын
@@SuperALBSUREyou are right big time. But these days people only care about flashy created out of the blue djs whom never played a record. Because they cant relate otherwise. Playing records is expensive and time consuming to learn the skill. People only value the faster and easy road.

You can love or hate James Hype. I've seen him in Paris and as a DJ I was more interested in the overall showmanship than the tracklisting. He's not prerecording anything. It's possible he could be doing some custom edits so that difficult transitions are more predictable. But that is the only thing I might think of his that is prerecorded. like a mashup is a great point. A mashup could be done on the fly or you could produce it ahead of time. Producing the edit ahead of time ensures that you can do more with the transitions around it. James is only guilty of having a bad haircut.

The fact the idiot McFarlane is trying again doesn't surprise me. IN America especially, there's no shortage of l;ying chancers like Elon Musk, Donald Trump and so on. What I hope happens is that it actually goes forward at least to close to the festival because I want to see what level of dipshits actually fall for it and buy tickets again.
