Hey, I ran one like that in 1975 at a place called Sawyer Industry's. I liked it very much. It only had a lead screw that fed and cut screws. It was pretty accurate. Very handy. A man down the street from where I grew up had one in his garage as he was a machinist that worked out of his garage. He and a man that lived across the street from my parents was also a machinist and I was inspired by both of them to become a professional machinist.

20 years ago. The best rolomatic facility 600x. It was really the best now. It's more and more due to the program update. It's improved with that facility. There's 630 series and Nano 6 facilities. Among them, the Nano 6 facility is for small diameter. It's a recognized facility~~~~

Not sure I'm looking at a 'gap bed' lathe.
@MikeBaxterABC
@MikeBaxterABC 2 ай бұрын
A "Gap Bed" Lathe is one where a section of the he Lathe Bed is either removable, or sliding, So that the bed can be moved away for the headstock a short distance. .. This will increase the "Swing" the lath has dramatically allowing short parts to be turned in a large diametre. Also the length of the lathe bed also increases on sliding models.

@@MikeBaxterABC Does this featured lathe have a gap bed? It is not apparent from the images hence my comment. I am familiar the concept and have in fact worked on lathes of this classification.

Someone asked in a forum what the difference was between an Alliant & a Bridgeport for parts. Bridgeport is english, Alliant is metric. Back in the day, Bridgeport parts were hard to get (1985) & shops would buy Alliant drawbars (cash only, no returns) to use on Bridgeports - they had to modify because the threads didn't match. Outside of the drawbar, the parts weren't / aren't interchangeable.

Yep. Cutting wood like that is indeed how to potentially cut your finger off. I'm surprised it didn't happen on this video. Amazing how these sites just let loose the dummies who don't know jack about how to use the product safely to make videos of their inventory.
