I was there 9am the Sokol helicopter arrived around 10pm. The fire could not be contained because houses were made with light materials. Firetrucks were positioned at the Bureau of Customs wall perimeter. There was no other realistic location as the community can only be accessed by a motorcycle; a habal habal, if you will. The helicopter carrying saltwater was ineffective as a fire brigade because of wind and height; volume of water was not enough. Maybe a bigger water containment system and better fire supression tactics. I was inside the narrow slums as a photojournalist and was covering the residents trying to put out the fire. The water from the helicopter was raining down on us from above. Kudos to them for trying but it was ineffective. Again maybe hey should assess fire supression tactics next time. This was the second time I encountered the Sokol helicopter during a fire with same results.

@@flotrucker I was there on ship 2Go at 7 am and helicopter came after 12pm. Second of all I wonder who make fire and are people will have houses back and material goods. All other isnt important.

@@PinayGio the fire started in one of the shanties. Since they are all made of light, flammable materials the fire spread quickly as shanties are built side by side in every available space. Its just the physics of the place. They have since rebuilt their shanties with the same light materials. They build according to what they can afford. This was the second time the community was burned down. The first one was in April of this year.

As European know few things about corruption in PH. However don't know nothing how much I should coz I care about people here. Mostly coz I have asawa Filipina and kids are also with us. Will tell you this is spiritual thing. People are neglected and if they know what we know after 2020 then change would be dramatic. Until people will not go back to God it will be only worser.
