I was skeptical about the contrast between the woods, but after seeing the pickups and neck on it I think we have winner! I can't wait to see the final assembly.

Been there and done that. In fact I have two bodies that were prototyped in Korea for Source Nation Deals (when they were making Strat style necks) that feature mahogany with a full maple top for 25.5 scale. I had to groove Gotoh tuneomatic bridge saddles to 9.5 radius and used an angled shim to get the neck angle right. Plays great, sounds great and the second looks and comments I get when playing out are priceless and switching back to a Strat during a set is seamless.

Very cool. What scale are you doing? 24 3/4 or 25 1/2? Gibson sort of did this a few years back. M 3 wiring. They were H S H with a 5 way switch and a switch to put it in all single mode. You’ve taken it all the way though. Cool!

Finally found a bit of time to catch your channel again and it looks like I timed it perfectly. This will be a great build. Is the scale length going to be that of a Les Paul? I assume so based on the headstock. Will you be wiring it for 250 or 500k pots, or will you switch in a 500k resistor in parallel when splitting the humbucker to get the best of both worlds? The body wood looks great with the two-tone look. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out Eric.

Hey ccj. It's going to be a 25.5 scale. I'm not sure about the wiring yet, but its going to have single coil size humbuckers. Hope you are doing good.
@ccjmusic2 күн бұрын
@@ericctheartofnoise8613 If I'd been thinking about it I guess I should have realized it would be 25.5 because you used the pickguard to locate the distance of the bridge from the neck. I'm doing good thanks. I've been addicted to experimenting with virtual modular synths lately. Hope you are doing much better now after your heart scare.

That's my favorite thing about guitar bodies cutting out the blank and routering everything out. I actually have a Tele body I made and I want to get it done. 8 years ago I made it out of some real 2×6 pieces of trusses when 2×6's where Real 2×6's I'll do a short on it later today. I like the 3 piece body on it. What ever you do turns out awesome anyway 😎 😮

Basically most of the stuff we put in the recycle bin is not recycling. There is only very specific kinds of plastic and other stuff that is actually recyclables. After 20+ years in the Commercial Demolition Business. I can confidently say that i personally have recycled more than anyone in my entire family. with out different size straight edges to check frets and lay of the neck ...you're screwing this up . the neck never is really flat so when you use that crap fret rocker , it's like following railroad tracks up hills and dips . it will seem level but it's not yet
@ericctheartofnoise86137 күн бұрын
How do you figure? If the neck is straight and the fretboard is radiused from top to bottom on a straight neck. Installing the frets till they are all seated on top of the fretboard. Leveling with the same radius block and then crowning and polishing. Do you really think I did not use a straight edge metal ruler to check after all was said and done. I might not have shown it, but before I sanded the back and headstock before paint. A .002 shim will not slide under the straight edge and the fret. This is why people never had anything bad to say about my fret work. Thanks for your input. This is not meant to sound sarcastic.
