William Tallman and Yul Brynner PSA 's were the most profound. Cigarette smoking killed my Grandfather my uncle, and my younger sister. I never smoked and never will! The cancer thar killed my mother was ovarian and i have survived pre-stage 1 testicular so I will never increase the risk !

Oh my gosh, I just saw this on Insta and looked it up here - I remember girls dancing to Barracuda (Heart) like this at school in the late 70’s and I never knew what it was called 😲

The comments section is the only saving grace of this video. As soon as that horrific theme song came on after Cheese TV or whatever, we screamed to change it (we were probably late for school too).

I hated this show so much when I was a kid. The voice really annoyed me. The only redeeming quality was the awesome theme song.

I remember my mum going crazy with my brother one time cos she overheard him singing this song, but he'd changed the lyrics to "baggy arse and the fuckwits". Believe me, that's quite highbrow for a 1970's Yorkshire 10 year old.

Wow! A trip down memory lane! I was one of the originals in ‘The Barbershop Quartet’. It all started way back in 1974 (as a joke) the whole thing was the brainchild of Nick ( the big guy who played the part of a bass singer). My last performance was in Maitland 1986 ( that’s when Colin joined the group) Sadly! The little guy, Graham, passed away in 2016 he was without a doubt the funniest member of the group the source of endless buffs I look back now with so many fond memories and it’s hard to believe how incredible popular the group was as we were booked out more than a year in advance travelled throughout Australia and yes! Overseas!. Ps: All the songs we mimed and Graham was not that good at miming! lol

@ Yes! We Only traveled overseas once ( but traveled around Australia extensively) with a man by the name of, Clive Stebbins, who (way back then) was the director for ‘Youth For Christ’ Looking back now it still amazes me why the group seemed to be so popular (and it was as we were booked out more than a year in advance) today, we’d be laughed of stage, as our choreography and even our miming was never that good. The CTA Ads were so instrumental in the groups meteoric rise coupled with the fact we also won a rather prestigious talent quest at the Camberwell Civic Centre. But then, we all started getting older and the time commitment needed to keep the group viable became to much along with the fact we were getting married with young families so it had to be disbanded! We are all in our late 60s now (at 70 I’m the oldest). Ps: I think its appeal may have been due to its unique originality and to a kind of “slap stick” comedic style! That overlooked our lack of, what might be called, professionalism!

There’s another Mulligrubs video I’d like to see. I wanna see the one where Angela Smith sings the song Like A Leaf Or Feather and another one where Gina Zoia sings The 7 Steps! If anyone could upload either of those videos that’d be great.
