Hi ! does you know at what % of watt fan start to spin?
@bradeinarsen6 күн бұрын
It's based on temperature. That is caused by power draw (watts) but not directly triggered by them. I had to run the CPU and GPU at 100% each to make it spin. I suspect its set to 50C.

I am interested in buying this psu because I upgraded to a 7900xtx I have a 7800x3d cpu as well and my 650w won’t make the cut. I know I don’t need 1200w but by the time I upgrade to a new gpu it’ll be a minimum of 2-4 years down the line and with the current rising psu requirements for high end cards I want to be future proofed. Do you think this is a safe buy? It’s priced so well it’s hard to believe. I mean come on $99 80 plus Platinum!!! Like holy smokes.

All I know is that the one I have has performed flawlessly. I found it ran pretty hot and the fan wouldn't turn but I used FurMark and CPU burner to max out the watts and eventually it did go. So far so good. It's on my 9800X3D test bench.

It's not the hardware, GTA is known to have issues on high end equipment. Don't get the 9800X3D unless you're upgrading from something older than a 5800X3D though, especially for 1440, a GPU makes more difference.

GTA V's rage engine has a temperamental cap on its fps at 186 to 187ish. Its an old game & 144hz monitors were barely around back then. So if you cap your fps to 186 you should see really good frametimes & average lows etc. Good luck.

Is it silent? I don’t want to assume but you’re accent sounds British and if I’m correct, in the UK, they use 220V and my PSU, like yours, in the input says 100-240VAC (mine had a sticker on the plug saying 220V/AC), do you know if it works with 110V, since I live on a country we’re we use 110V? It also came with a Chinese type I connector (To Outlet) and also to my knowledge, in Chine they use 220V Nice content btw

I just got mine yesterday. I bought it from Newegg because of the $10 rebate and the Starfield Premium promo. Sitting at the CoD Warzone 2.0 loading screen the fans go full tilt. It's VERY loud. I can hear it through my headphones if no audio is playing. I'm going to play around with the fan curve and/or other settings, but at this point I'm considering returning it. My previous GTX 1060 was silent even at maximum load.

@@mrmax1984 Yikes. That doesn’t sound like a good time. I decided to go with an Asrock 6750xt Phantom, because it has 3 fans and the RGB is a nice bonus.
@mrmax1984 Жыл бұрын
Edit: turns out my case had bad thermals that my 1060 was masking. One exhaust fan came mounted backwards, so both ends of the case were trying to push air into the case. I corrected this and added a fan to the front. This helped quite a bit, but I still had to manually lower the 6750 XT's fan curve such that it never goes above 50%. Now, temps max out around 70C in Furmark, which is acceptable to me for the noise the fans make. For $300 and having to futz around with the fan curve a bit, this is still a decent deal for me. I also undervolted the card. It's running at 1120mV stable. In Warzone 2.0 it maxes out around ~190W of power draw, which I think helps with the fan noise and temps.
@bradeinarsen Жыл бұрын

MOSTLY it's 100% and as good as my Nvidia cards (3080 and down) but there are two issues: • In Dirt5 the mouse cursor actually stays on the screen in the centre and it's annoying. Often the cursor gets whipped eventually but it's aggravating. • The coil whine is LOUD in high fps screens (menus and some high fps games) mine is on a test bench so it's open and i suspect a case would get rid of most of this.
