The F-16's wing wasn't on fire, it looks like the AIM-9 was cooking off. I sure as hell wouldn't be standing in front of that thing!

The 321 was NOT on fire, they reported smoke in the flight deck, followed the procedure and as a result of that had a degraded braking system, limited spoilers and reverse capabilty, the brakes caught fire post landing due to increased braking stresses.

The majority of pilots who eject from an aircraft never return to active duty due to injuries. Ejecting is a violent and dangerous procedure.

It can do the job of a handful of airplanes, all alone. So if it takes more maintenance for one aircraft, it won’t take more man hours compared to 5 aircraft.

That's true for a lot a of fighters, although anything stealth takes a lot more time because the radar absorbent paint needs to be perfect otherwise it won't work and you've spent all that time and money for nothing.

Not just that, but the possibility of never flying again - especially due to what looked like in the last one, a case of pushing the wrong thrust vector button.
