I‘m knitting this pattern right now, and I‘ve probably started over like 15 times at least🙃 It’s so frustrating… Never thought that a mitten would be this complicated😂 Your video just motivated me to keep going until it works out☺️☺️

lol keep going! I really didnt think I would be able to do it at the beginning but after many attempts I got it and it was so rewarding!

I’m knitting the Oslo Hat because of you!! And I found one skein of Malabrigos Rios in my stash! 🎉 Did you just use one skein for the size small?
@alexjames_fiber7 күн бұрын
So exciting! Yes, I used 1 100g skein of Rios but I also knit the hat 3/4" shorter before the decreases so I used a little less yarn than the pattern expects probably
@Andygirl647 күн бұрын
@ Ok, awesome! I’m on the body and I’m gonna knit it shorter, too. I’m hoping I’ll win the yarn chicken! 😆 Thanks!

Thank you so much for sharing your tricks. I'll try to do sweaters ribbings as you do, because my wrong side is actually better than the right side, I think it depends on the way I do purl stitches... I'll give it a try.

How many skeins of the drops extrafine merino does it take for one oslo hat?
@alexjames_fiber11 күн бұрын
I use a little less than 2 50 skeins (a little less than 200m total). I also knit my solo hats 3/4" shorter before the crown decreases!
@alexjames_fiber7 күн бұрын
I use 2 skeins (100g of DK total)

Not me literally knitting the northern augustins no 2 right now! My first colourwork project, got the hang of it when I decided to go English style knitting with one colour and continental for the other colour! I usually knit continental so the English style was a learning curve but so far so good! I learned the Italian cast on for this project too and I’m kinda obsessed with it
@alexjames_fiber14 күн бұрын
this gives me so much hope haha I also knit continental and english made absolutely no sense to me for so long. I just knit the alma mittens those which are colorwork and did the same thing (continental with one hand and english with the other)! Augustins no 2 is definitely back in the queue

Knitatude has a few patterns to choose from for the wrap that you want to wear to the wedding. Frog the tank, use it for a pattern that you will wear. Frog the sweater, reknit same size smaller needle. You are doing an amazing job, keep up the good work! 😊

It's more of an investment but extra fine merino wool is my absolute favorite to use! All the benefits of wool without the itchiness

Suggestion: wear a tight tshirt under said sweater, then eventually go to a camisole and then maybe you can wear agaisnt skin. However, i do enjoy a kayer under my sweaters anyways, so... Thats my age showing with the layering we did in the early 2000's 😂😂

Nice looking sweaters! Sad to hear you used acrylic for the first one though. It won't stay pretty in the long run, makes you sweat instead of keeping you warm and is bad for the environment.
@mia_voorheesАй бұрын
i definitely agree but she was probably thinking since it was her first project she didn't want to waste too much money on good yarn in case she made mistakes
