Spent a good bit of time there. Used to be Roland Sahm's house, he founded Elixir Industries, where my dad was a VP. He also bought Masi Bicycles in Italy, and moved the factory, lock, stock and barrel, to the Ranch. The pool had lapis and real gold plated tiles on the bottom. That fascinated me as a kid, almost as much as the bike factory. The orchards were pretty impressive, as was the horse stable. Ramona Sahm was always very kind to me, and used to get me tamales from in town for lunch... :-)

Same here, spent every summer in La Jolla from La Jolla Shores to the Cove, to Shell Beach and Children's beach. Honeymoon was at the old Shell Beach Apartments for a week. My father wanted to buy one of the old red houses next to the Cove in the 70's for $9,000, but the brother's wouldn't sell nor to the Cove. Then he wanted to buy one of the condo's down the road for $50K but mom talked him out of it. I take my grandchildren to La Jolla Shores now during the summers. I totally understand your memories. I had many.
