I literally watched this video to see if I wanted to have my gears changed. NOT really trusting that it is done 100 percent right. Pretty convinced if this labor is the norm I'll live with factory 4.10 and 37's. Seems way too much banging and impact and who TF leaves brand new bearing in the wrapper? Way fast and in a hurry not for me.

Just upgraded my 2012 Sahara with the same 5.14 front and back. I pick it up this week, can't wait!! Added detroit lockers and yukon driveshaft as well. I'll be ready for the RIPP XL in 2months! Thanks for the informative video!

As someone from the UK, its nice to see a 2020+ model defender have some mods on it. Even over here it's rare to see any overland set up on the newer versions.

I noticed the “moveover” of the intercooler as the “Ripp” insignia is not seen entirely through the grille, bit of a bummer, my OCD is bothered by it. Surprised no CEL from that temperamental Pentastar.

Looking to make the switch to 37's and 4.10 gears to 5.13 gears on my '17 Rubicon with Dana 44.. Any issues or concerns? What's your review at this point, now that you've had the install for a few years? Thanks brother. Hope all is well.

That’s a fantastic combination. I had the same and enjoyed it. I run 38’s now and still run 5.13s. Seems like a good sweet spot. However I’ve had friends on 4.88s and they seemed happy. Try to drive someone else’s if you can. Good luck!

Old video but are the sleeves the magnum 44 kit? I asked evo if rcv shafts would work with this sleeve and they said not if they are 35 splines.
@FixBreakRepeat

Not sure on that sorry, my sleeves weren’t EVO. Actually can’t remember who I got those from. I remember buying them from Revel Offroad with the gussets. Wasn’t too expensive.

So you have to pay 500$ for the upgrade kit and buy two brand new batteries too?
@FixBreakRepeat
@FixBreakRepeat Жыл бұрын
You don’t have to buy new ones if you already have 2 good ones. I just got new ones for the install. Not for everyone. But if it’s for you you’ll be stoked with the system.

Believe me. I'm not happy either. Lots of money to have to spend....again.. but the original is a piece of shit! It drains your battery's 24/7 while the jeep is sitting. Ruined one of my 350+ oddysey batteries. So now I bought the gen 3 and 1 new oddysey. Wish I never bought this. Just a jackery that can be moved between jeeps is way better.

Looks great but I'm really interested in the accessory connections. I have a bunch of heavy duty stuff running through terminal fuses into my old-style kit as well as some small ones on the BlueSea power posts.
@FixBreakRepeat
@FixBreakRepeat Жыл бұрын
The connections are solid and there are 3 terminals per side, large, medium and small. Plus I’m not 100% but seems like there’s mini connectors on the side of the bud bar. I’ll Confirm with Genesis.

IF you ever install a soft top you will have to cut reliefs in the back of the cubby system to install the rear clips, not a big deal but had to cut not only the plywood but the aluminum bracing under it as well, no room for the clips otherwise.

Awesome. Having a on board battery charger is quite useful. I have a genesis dual battery tray with a noco gen1 10amp charger on my jeep. I normally have my ARB 50qt running 24/7 so when i get home after driving i just plug mines in to keep the batteries topped off. Personally i drilled my steel bumper (RIP 2inch holesaw) to mount the Noco plug input because i never wanted to drill the fender. And i mounted my charger under the bumper above the lower crashbar behind my license plate. That way i can see if it fully charged the batteries or not. Planning on doing another battery charger setup on a toyota pickup for keeping a smaller minifridge set nice and cool. Keeping the jeep full with gas its quite hard with a supercharger and <9 MPG vs the 16+ i get on the beater 2wd 22re pickup truck.

@@riggedfordirt i previously had a noco 5amp charger but it did not charge quickly enough to keep the battery alive if i dont charge it daily. It takes about 10+ hours to charge vs the 4+ with the 10amp.
