Hi Wally, thanks! The hull is from klavitet-21, it's a 37" hull called "Wild Thing." Very strong layup they also build the Bandit series hulls. Motors are twin lehner 2240, 1850kv running 8s 4000 mah per motor twin XLX2 escs. Props spinning inward, ABC 1917.

Yes they are awesome for outright grip in all situations. With the weight of the X Maxx these tires just find a way to find traction even when my 1/8 scale rigs do not.I highly recommend. I will say though they don't slide around corners nearly as well as Badlands (which have the hard compound). Badlands more for speed but for bashing and clawing for traction I don't think anything touches these deep lugged magmas.

@@CRAIGMAC-RC Oh yeah, they're one of the heaviest tires on the market for the truck same weight as Trenchers (can run proline rims and aluminum screws, 240g weight saving all around not worth the $$ to do that though imo). If you like drifting around and handling, I'd go Proline Badlands. These Magma tires make whatever you have feel more like a monster truck. I imagine people who like backflips will love them. If you have an upgraded esc you won't notice the weight from a performance standpoint...everything will just get hotter lol. I do think they would be too much for the stock esc with speed gearing I wouldn't do that lol. I have a ton of XLX2s laying around so put one in this rig too, it's hard on the motor but whatever when it burns I'll upgrade.

Thanks Stelios, this boat slowed down a lot on 1916s (the 1917s were just incredible). Sourcing the props after ruining the 1917 might take some time. This boat had exceeded my expectations at this point I have a feeling season is over for it.

Thanks Stelios, only footage of it flying in this case i changed to the CNHL lipos you recommended, extreme power. I destroyed a rudder, prop and servo during this crash. The water was incredibly calm on this day didn't plan on running boats but knew a gloomy day plus zero wind would be good...

Thanks stelios! This is the 37" boat still on the tp 4040 1850kv motors. Put the 2240 1850kvs for 8s in it gotta give them a try. Batteries were a little bit low on loaded voltage will do a bunch of cycles and warm them up for next time 😀

Yes i ran this boat a few times with this setup. the controllers are second best thing to an original schulz 40.160. This boat has crept over 120 mph with 465s reduced to 52, the 457s reduced to 50 got it to 119 mph which is 6 mph better than with the swordfish 300s. Ive been running these boats for about 14 years now (twin cats), these xlx2 controllers are great for any 8s max setup, no commercial off the shelf controller has this much raw power for 8s max. I really want castle to make an hv controller for the bigger boats... For speed run videos I have a smaller boat running twin xlx2 also, lmt 2240 1850kv 8s. My old videos of the 114 only showed it up to 109 mph, best ever 113 on swordfish 300s. That's when the xlx2 stepped in and gave me 6 mph, no other changes. ​@swaldoski
