The issue with Sybil seems to be related to the fact so many claimed that “oh there’s been so many cases of DID after Sybil came out” as “”evidence”” for it being sociogenic, but I don’t know if that’s a problem with the movie or not or if that’s just people using it as an excuse to be so.

Definitely not abusers cosplaying as psychologists: “did isn’t real” Us with DID: “what? Sorry I couldn’t hear you over “faking” having massive headaches all the time becuase yknow I can just do that”

i just played it, because i was bored and just searched "dissociative identity disorder" on steam, i wasn't expecting alot from the game description, and got disappointed within the first 4 seconds of the game, its kinda weird since alot of the text popups that happen while your in the middle of the game are.. not TOO bad honestly. and the gameplay itself is like fine, i found some of the puzzles kinda challenging i guess.. like they could just make this game without the whole "DID" aspect and it'd actually probably be alright, good. ugh, also LOL'd so hard at "multiple personality syndrome" the only part i can kinda excuse is the 'witnessing a murder' thing, like sure, that would probably give you DID ulbeit a bit dramatic. (assuming she wasnt invovled with it or anything)

Hi Leo, nice to hear from you…welcome back. I couldn’t like this video…literally KZbin wouldn’t let me, in case that wasn’t something intended. Question for you. I have been researching effects of testosterone on DID systems, like reading case studies and whatnot. Is there anything noteworthy that you have noticed, other than everyone’s voice getting deeper? For instance I have read about bandwidth of emotion being less intense and it being harder to cry etc. I read one case study where aggressive male alters that were not normal fronters suddenly becoming so after a few months on T. Very interested in your system experience with it. Anything you are comfortable sharing, much appreciated. Thank you. - Sam Nvm on the ability to like the video, was able to now. That was weird. lol
@TheKairosCollabrative6 ай бұрын
Hey thanks for your question! Definitely noticed a lot of side effects over the years. Emotions was a big one that was impacted p early on. I’d say we became a lot less prone to becoming emotionally overwhelmed and our mood became much more stable. Despite this (or maybe bc of it?) frustration and anger have definitely replaced what before was mostly bouts of sadness. After starting our meds tho all of it has really stabilized & we’re able to have a lot more self control when we are triggered. Which means we’re able to self-regulate easier. The crying thing has impacted us some but its not like we can’t cry. It just usually takes some actual emotional conflict to get us to (before we’d tear up at the drop of a hat LOL). I hadn’t thought abt it before but we’ve definitely had more Sterling & other previously dysphoria-prone parts fronting more. Unfortunately Esme in particular has struggled w/ the changes & prefers to spend as little amount of time in the body as possible nowadays. We were worried abt the impact it’d have on our libido due to our hypersexuality. While it has increased our drive it’s also corresponded w/ us having less self-harmful sexual activities? I’m not sure why but the type of activity we gravitate to has def become more healthy since starting hormones. One negative impact we def weren’t expecting is we’ve started to look a lot more like one of our male family members who abused us. At times looking in the mirror has caused somatic flashbacks. It isn’t a constant idea in our head but it does often hit out of the blue. Confidence and a feeling of safety are the most important factors which have positively impacted everybody even if they didn’t have dysphoria surrounding the body. For exp bc I feel more physically capable as a protector other more vulnerable parts feel a bit more comfortable existing in the world as well. This all I can think of rn but if there's any more particulars you wanna know abt feel free to ask!

@@TheKairosCollabrative thank you for your thoughtful answers, much appreciated and helpful. More mood stability sounds amazing! Glad to hear self regulation has been easier. Do you think that is from the combination of meds or one in particular? I get the tearing up at drop of hat. We used to experience that too. It’s been better lately, but still more than makes any logical sense to me. Having that not be the case sounds wonderful. That is something I am concerned about, that female alters might become unable, less willing, or just plain really unhappy to front. Thank you for sharing Esme’s experience with that. Sorry to hear about the resemblance to an abuser, that’s rough. Being a protector myself, that sounds awesome. I have actually been worried that being open about being trans in general might be putting us in a more unsafe situation living in southern US. Seriously considering moving. Thanks again Leo! -Sam
@TheKairosCollabrative6 ай бұрын
@@zenhydrasystem It prolly is a combo of all the meds realistically speaking but as far as what's noticeable for us Prazosin has been the most stabilizing. Could be tho bc it acts immediately so you're more likely to notice the impact it has. But its def been a life saver when it comes to a lot of our PTSD symptoms. It's def harder when it comes to deciding to physically transition as someone w/ DID. Ultimately for us it was a give n take. Someone was gunna end up unhappy but since we're a male-dominate system n the ppl out the most are guys it just made sense for us. We have tried to do little things to make her feel more comfortable like wigs n makeup n clothes but there's unfortunately only so much we can do. It was still definitely the rite decision for us personally tho.

But we're still getting back into the swing of things and as of right now a lot of our Patreon perks are on pause. Still using it for polls and updates and the like but I'd honestly recommend holding off on subscribing to it until we're more in the swing of things! We really appreciate your support nonetheless! :) Thank you for being here.

👋 Good to see you back!! Scoffs at times we were told that we had somatoform response, a.k.a. body memories in the 70s, yup the body is old. Had 12 mental health professionals convey that we had depression, or anxiety, or B.P.D., or "That couldn't have happened. People don't do that to children.". Yeah, they do. Want to reaffirm how great it is to see you, so many faded because of 'all that' stuff that created A LOT of stigma back around 2020 (it wasn't covid, it was people that had nothing better to do that to 'make fun of those with D.I.D.). I love when people who dont have DID who dont know anything about DID tell us that we shouldnt care about this shit perpetrating the whole "you have a murderer alter" bs that we constantly have to deal with .. because .. reasons .. And like making rediculious comparisons that make no fucking sense "next their gonna go after the joker" .. no? The joker doesnt portray people with DID as murderers ... If they say its "Coming out of nowhere" there effectively saying theyve never interacted with the DID community in any way ..

This was difficult to watch at some points and I can definitely relate. One thing that stood out to me was you being on the phone and triggered. I know this video is 2 years old and I don't know you, but I wanted to grab that phone and hang it up for you. It broke my heart seeing you like that. Nobody should ever have to subject themselves to this kind of pain for the sake of someone else's comfort, family or not. I hope in your journey of healing you can realize how important you are and that your peace and safety come first. It is ok to walk away. It is ok to say no. It is ok to pause and take time for you. It's ok to hang up. Healing is messy work but you all are doing it. Big High Five!
