If you listen to this song now when they do it live the guitar tone is so different . Roman went back to the studio sound . This version is the best version they ever did . That chorus and reverb on his guitar is insane

My sister had it, but I listened to it the most when I was a kid (11-12 yo!). At least a thousand times if not more. It helped me learn English! And I have listened to it millions more time ever since!

I have a band, and not a drummer... are the drums playback set by someone off-stage, or do they use a rythm machine i didn't see yet?
@ChiakiMONO15 күн бұрын
Probably the right guitarist has turn on the drum on the first second of video

A lot of the early 80s New-Wave bands didn't sound all that great playing live. Just weren't able to recreate onstage what they recorded in the studio, especially when playing in small venues. The Smiths didn't have that problem, not even a little bit.

Not a mobile in sight. Thank heavens. Regardless of the irony of making such a statement on a technicalogical platform.

I decree today that life Is simply taking and not giving England is mine, it owes me a living But ask me why, and I'll spit in your eye Oh, ask me why, and I'll spit in your eye But we cannot cling to the old dreams anymore No, we cannot cling to those dreams Does the body rule the mind Or does the mind rule the body? I don't know Under the iron bridge we kissed And although I ended up with sore lips It just wasn't like the old days anymore No, it wasn't like those days Am I still ill? Oh... Oh, am I still ill? Oh... Does the body rule the mind Or does the mind rule the body? I don't know Ask me why, and I'll die Oh, ask me why, and I'll die And if you must, go to work tomorrow Well, if I were you I really wouldn't bother For there are brighter sides to life And I should know, because I've seen them But not very often Under the iron bridge we kissed And although I ended up with sore lips It just wasn't like the old days anymore No, it wasn't like those days Am I still ill? Oh... Oh, am I still ill? Oh...

You know what's funny? Take the video's title off and you've got a brand new goth song. Bowie would be proud about you (maybe not, he was so strange).
