Course looks insanely nice, just some weird things on it. Always go 4 pins! If you want only 1 tee box that's fine, but always use 4 pins
@GForce413 күн бұрын
Thanks Shane! Yes, always 4 pins for sure. Have you been designing lately?
@Shane2sweet13 күн бұрын
@@GForce41 yeah I got one that's just about done. I took a little break from it a while ago though, I just felt kind of burnt out by designing. Hopefully sometime this week I can finish it up. I got about 10% plant meter left so I'm going to go around and hand plant a bunch of grass then I'm calling good. This might be the last one for this game depending on if they announce a release date for the new game

thanks for the kind words shane, would like to know what you considered weird though. and also a list of your designs
@Shane2sweet12 күн бұрын
Some of the holes were a bit too long. I wouldn't suggest a 300 yard par 3 or a 570 par 4, that's a little too tough. The split green on #3 I thought was odd... Your planting is beautiful though. Try to keep trees out of the way off the tee, show off that great view and nice planting. Was it #2 with the little pond short and left with the big pond long and right? I agree with Gforce, a bunker would've been better instead of the little mud hole. That makes the hole risk/risk with no reward if you use driver off the tee. I'm trying to think of the last courses I've done... It's been a while since I've finished one. "Ro Shogun no Hokori" is a one and "White Iverson Resort GC" I think are the last two I've done. The White Iverson is ok, it never turned out like I pictured in my head. Ro Shogun no Hokori is better. I try to come up with unique concepts in my head when designing but always think, could this work in real life. I can think of my first course's name too, "Whaler's Widows Wail" I think was its name. There are others but I can't remember all the names of them. Some I was happy with and others I couldn't ever get to play right with what I had in my head
@Shane2sweet12 күн бұрын
@@michelleroberts-z6uI just finished golfing the course. It's tough, I was +8. I set the time of day to morning and weather to clear. Your planting is awesome and your color scheme is beautiful, better than anything I ever planted on my courses.

thanks for all the suggestions and tips, if i can muster the time and mental patience to build another it will definately lean more traditional. looking forward to your new designs, and i hope the NEW pga2k5 considers TACONIC blue for one of their offical course offerings. thanks again for using VERA LAKE on course design quick tips14 and your effort and time as well as the nod to Pristine Vistas. Your season 5 guest appearance was extra special, so on behalf of pristine vistas and my self, THANKS again!

there are so many good designers out there, i wish they would put more emphasis on tournement atmosphere, like architex Clonmel, that course just begs for tournement crowds, if memory being an issue just throw some cheap peoples around, i hope you respond with a list of your creations because if i remember correctly, i think you had a course or 2 that i really liked, maybe they were on 2k21. i will send you a friend request so as to be able to search your creations more easily, no worries if you choose not to except.

aeastwood, though i've been partial to courses featuring tournement crowds, even more so now since i've been enjoying the tournement society, your courses brings to mind what i see as a need for a new filter catagory in the library search "search by designer name". so many times i would like to search the library by designer name, reasons for this are numerous, would be extremely handy, for instance i've seen your tag out their on lots of designs and if i wanted to recall those courses it would be extremely helpful to have this filter. that being said, can you list your favorite creations. as a scheduler their are so many times i find a great course but they lack tournement crowds, i just wish more designers built in the tournement atmosphere, i guess to each is own.

you've spent a considerable amount of your time in helping me and it is much appreciated, and do Not wish to overstay my welcome. As designer of one the best courses on 2k23(taconic blue) your no doubt trying to find the time to finish your current design, so i feel over extended in making another request, but if you do so happen to review my course on your channel, i thought it might be cool to review it while shooting it as the event at pristine vistas, it is the current scheduled event, i believe their are 2 days remaining to shoot VERA LAKE as the event. i know time restraints probably make this a non starter as you may NOT even be considering to review the course, but i can always hope. best wishes again and thanks for all the work you do to enhance the game of 2k23.
@michelleroberts-z6u17 күн бұрын
i agree with your admin update for society tournements. i also wish their was at least a filter in the library search for touring courses, i spend a lot of time scouring the library in search of pga style courses, if only their was a way for the filter to identify courses that have been designed that include crowds. thanks again for the lighting tutorial and actually making that guest appearance at pristine vistas, were looking forward to your new design.

Excellent feedback as usual, I was wondering if you'd be able to have a look at one of my courses, either: Easter Island Descent, which is loosely based on Easter Island and is a sort of fantasy course styling but with realistic (I hope), course dynamics, distances etc, with a few hidden shortcuts ( check the hole maps). Or another course called: Mulberry Woods Trail, this is a more traditional course, set amongst woodlands with streams and waterways, and in all honesty my best designed course I think. My username is Vernianio. Both courses have 4 pins and 3 tees and overall length on the longest tees of around 7500 yards.

Cheers matey, I've been struggling with flattening bunkers, was using the flatten fuzzy brush and flattening but having it raised by about 1.2 feet, works OK but can see the raise tool initially helps massively, good call.

Great video. I found it really helpful. I spend a lot of time on my weather and lighting effects when starting a course and was looking for some good tips. I mainly struggle with having my course look good at all times of day. I always really like the default time and weather that I set, but cringe when I see people playing my courses at dusk/dawn with clear skies etc.. Sounds like keeping the inclination mid-range will help the look across all times. Thanks for taking the time to make this video!

*Additional Note* I learned after the video that this one was a refurbished version of a previously published 2K21 course. Per the designer, "It was designed as an old-school kind of course, with some touches of Riviera, Bel Air, and some Raynor side-quests." The designer touched it up for 2K23! Something I do as well. Another tip, never just "port and publish"...always take the opportunity to review and revise your course, make improvements and tailor the new version of the game.

going template spotting to give a little more context to the course for others watching: 1: prize dogleg 3: bottle/narrows? needs to be shorter for these to work 5: double plateau 6: road hole 7: alps 8: short 9: prize dogleg 10: bottle (a very nicely done one at that) 11: not a template, but reminiscent of 7 at valhalla with the fairway to the left 12: knoll? has characteristics for sure 13: island hole 14: not a template, but hells half acre at pine valley (on a par 4 is interesting) 15: redan? again, characteristics. also similar to bethpage black 8 16: similar to a leven

One thing I have trouble with when creating, and in my opinion this course had 'a little' trouble with, is "forcing creativity", if that makes sense. I know for me, I can start off with my first two, three, four holes are on point, and then my creativity falls off so then are start forcing. I've made a few courses, so now I've gotten better with that. When I find myself forcing, I just save and exit and give it some time, get some thoughts, then come back instead of forcing an idea. This was a good course overall! Nicely done! Thanks for the Quick tips!
