I just faced similar incident. My soft roof not flopping any more, it stops in one position and now i found out that it is leaking fluid under the rear right seat and on the ground. Any idea what can it be ??? Thanks

I presume this is an early model not a 2004 onwards? Mine is a 2004 UK. Pump is on right hand side (petrol filling side) take out side panel in boot and it should be there toward the rear seat.

Should this not be CHF? not jack oil?

I'm a saab 2001 9-3 owner of the convertible 2.0t and the drop top isn't going down. Previously the drop top wouldn't lock onto the back and an associate did manage to lock the drop top for me. Now I try to drop it but it doesn't. I press the button and it works but the mechanism isn't making the drop top work so any experience with this similar problem please contact me we can discuss further details.

Sadly I did this and the top still won't drop. :(

I'm looking at buying a 2005 9-3 Aero Convertible. The images of the car with the tonneau down shows it not to be fully retracted/seated flush to the body. Could your 'fix' apply to the issue I've described or could it be something else? I've never owned this make/model before, so the last thing I want it a repair bill in order to get the roof/tonneau to fully retract flush to the body. Any advice from yourself or anyone reading this would be helpful in addition to any online video links to show the method. Thank you.

Hej Paul Reeve,I'm an owner of a 2004 version, and want to refill with hydraulic oil.According to "Owner's Manual" can't the back seat (vertical)"can not be folded"? as shown on your video. I have tried under the back seat right hand (Saab told me)-but nothing. They said also I could try on the right side in the trunk - but there is no opening - do I have to remove the inside curtain? On the left side in the trunk is only Space ?fore a CD box and above the Electric control of the soft top! Can you help me ?? And yoxxur car is from xxxx?Best regardsBent Kiefer (Copenhagen)

I did ask a shop here middletown ct usa why is not opening my conv. Sir $95 just too start and will see about 3hr work it's going to cost you around $370 ,I just looked on KZbin found your video and did exactly the same thing saved me 365dollars I just got some hydraulic Jack oil and it worked like a charmhydraulic jack oil any work like a charm

Wouldn't the oil just leaked back out if you do not stop the source of the leak?

I had soft top failure on my 99.... Had to change the impeller gear.. A 10 dollar part!! Works like a champ!!

Mine was only about a third full, so I filled it up with Hydraulic Jack Fluid but, the front part of the top does not go down.....any other suggestions????

are u 100% positive that this cheaper fluid is exactly the same as the GM expensive fluid? I need more fluid but I am afraid to put this stuff in. I dont want to damage the seals cylinders etc by using the wrong stuff. It seems like every component to the top is extremely expensive.... but if i can buy hydraulic fluid that works perfectly for so much cheaper i am down with that.

can you show us how to do all of it because my soft top closes but not completly its like as if it gets stuck but i can close it completly
