Did the injector location affect the IAT and MAP readings? Still the best location?
@bfgarage2 ай бұрын
This is the best location for reducing IATs on this engine. It does a great job of bringing them down as they do run HOT. It brought the temp down around 40 degrees on this car MAP readings didn't change.

We didn't run the turbo for long before going for something bigger. It did hold up to some abuse though. At the end of the day it's just some brass and seals so there's nothing really that could go wrong with it.

how to know of it is single or twin feed?
@bfgarage10 ай бұрын
When you remove the bearing from the housing you will see which one it is. When you come to replace it just use the one that looks like same as the one it came with. If I'm honest either seems to work, ive tried it and had not changes running either a single or twin feed bearing in a single feed core.

Just a thought, the reason you inject the sealant rather than putting it on before is so it doesn't affect the bearing clearances by holding the lower half off the main block. They moved back to normal main caps in the B58.
@bfgarage Жыл бұрын
Yeh i think that is the reason. Thats why when we managed to fail with BMWs sealant we only put the sealant into the channel. We didn’t put it on the surfaces that meet because we didn’t want to introduce any extra clearance.

Heya, what type/size of gas hose did you use to connect the machine to the gas bottle? Was there a specific connection you've used? I've got the same machine and thought I'd gotten all the right bits for it (regulators, flow meters and such). Imagine my surprise when I was trying to connect the hose to the machine and my hose connection having no conceivable way of attaching to the port at slim port at the back. I've searched online but they all seem pretty similar to the hose I've already got. I might just be missing a trick but most videos skip that part of the setup as its assumed to be obvious.
@bfgarage Жыл бұрын
I just used some 8mm ID propane hose from a old bbq initially but now I have run some 6mm ID thick wall silicone hose that is normally end used for automotive applications but seems to work pretty well. If you do try silicone hose don’t try thin walled pipe as it will just blow.

@bfgarage Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the positive response. Overall I'm really happy with it the quality is amazing for the cost and yes you can just clamp to the table. Ive only got one downside, Its the long holes in the table top. I was welding and some hot metal dropped down through the holes and into my shoe causing quite a bad burn. Now I weld with some 1mm mild steel sheet over the table top to stop hot stuff dropping on my legs and feet.

The Lift Tig torch didn't come with so I had to get one and it cost 10 euros less than the DekoPro 160Amp welder.. LMAO I also bought a cheap 10-80Amp welder from LIDL. Yes I know they're normally a loada shite but this is a pretty decent little machine that'll hopefully allow me to learn on it with Stick so I can keep the other welder for learning how to Tig Weld. I got a WP-17 torch. I'm a complete Newb my bro. Sace for 3 years of metalwork classes once per week for 45mins each time when I was 11/12/13 yrs old. I'm about to close up on 51 yrs of age soon. It's been a mad last year for me getting into woodworking and now I've caught the welding bug. I'm about to embark on building my own table saw. I wish I had the money to buy on of those Langmuir Table to weld upon but not yet. Money's not for wasting as I was just made jobless this week and don't wanna waste load of cash atm. Least not til I'm back in a new job. I really want to take a year and go to college for Welding and woodworking but we'll see how it pans out. LOL Apologies for spouting off about the music on ur video bro. I like to hear the ppl speaking and explaining but I get this one. It's not ur creation so there u go.. Take it easy my man and I will be watching for more Welding content now after finding ur channel just now. Actually I think I found it through Vevor? I buy some stuff off there now and then and it's not bad tbh.. Take care welding man and look after those feet. U need them bigitime..

@bfgarage Жыл бұрын
I just bought one for K04, wasn't expensive probably around £20. Id say it's worth a try for the minimal cost. If you give it a try and have any questions don't hesitate to drop me message.

Were you using an argon mix in this video or 100% argon? Didn't look like a clean pure argon arc.
@bfgarage Жыл бұрын
Pure argon. My understanding is when welding aluminium the argon is just there to shield the tungsten not the material. I think my difficulty at the start was dialling in settings as I’ve never welded aluminium before and welding is just a hobby. Do you have any tips ?
@anthonyexmouth Жыл бұрын
@@bfgarage ah ok. Just seemed a bit sparky, thought it might have been an argon co2 mix. I did notice your torch angle was a bit shallow too, you might have sorted that now as the video was a few months ago. It feels right having it shallow as you can see the tungsten easier but you completely lose control of the arc. With Ali it's easy to overdo the balance and use too much cleaning, how are you getting on now? Had much more time on it?

@@anthonyexmouth Thank you for the reply, I've not had much more time welding with Ali over the xmas break. I do have some intercooler pipe that needs welding so I will document that and see if I can improve at all.
