Great video, excellent instructions - thank you so much! One thing I was curious about- you mentioned the quote you received with pre-mades at $350.00, what was the total cost for your DIY? Thanks again!
@RenowithRamonne
@RenowithRamonne Күн бұрын
Thank you 🙏🏾 the quote I received was $350.00 USD pre tax, shipping etc… I spent around $80 on the pine boards, but with that said, I already had some wood stain & Polyurethane from a previous project so I didn’t need to purchase any.

No offense, but that app looks terrible. Not only does it cost money, but watching you look around for some random "XMBTQ" label to find your toys was painful. Just label all your bins by number. Then, with a simple spreadsheet (kept in G-docs, OneDrive, saved on your phone, whatever), itemize all your stuff by each bin's corresponding number. Done.

It seems like you're vertically challenged with both saws. The goal is to stay aligned along one edge of your pencil mark. Evidently, you're trying to remedy the original mistake of not cutting the rim joist to the correct length. The solution is measure twice, cut once. Get it right in the beginning.

That IS a circular saw. And yes, I would be able to make that cut without a track riding circular saw, I have many times in fact. Plus it's a deck, not a china cabinet. That being said, do what works, and it looks like that works well for you, and frankly, a lot of that plastic decking can be "slippery" and tricky to cut perfectly straight even with years of experience, so the track saw takes a certain amount of error out of the equation I'm sure. Looks good

@@RenowithRamonne Keep at it. I built about 10 new homes with my father, and we rebuilt a few also. Some of the toughest memories was rebuilding an old home with a room addition upstairs. I was the one who had to dig out all the insulation then frame everything in after we cut out whatever needed gone. Built a new home with him around 2006 to 07. That was the last home I helped him build as a favor LOL I install floors now have been since 1992 so yeah, I been around LOL This nursing home needs some framing work sometimes, so I do that and their floors now man. Be safe!
