@@sailingcalypso I have been following you for a few days. Your video content quality is very good. But I noticed that, due to video optimization problems, the videos are not getting more views and subscribers. You need to fix it. Best wishes

We didn't take our boat there but took the ferry from Bequia to St Vincent. We enjoyed the tour we did of the beautiful island. Video and pics of that tour will be in a future video.

Hi great to see the family sail, am looking at one myself. How has it been? Any regrets etc. sorry to bother & advance thanks for any thoughts. Fair winds & safe sailing

Hi there. Thanks for your message. We loved our Sadler. She was a really great boat to learn on and for me, Siobhan, to build my confidence on a bigger boat. Our previous boat was a Stadt 23. We have no regrets at all. We sold her and moved on to a Montevideo 43 which we are currently sailing in the Bahamas. Stay well and fair winds.

Didn't know you also had a Sadler 32 before! That narrow stern makes for an uncomfortable downwind passage but I still liked mine. Also noticed at 3:14 is SV Berserk which sank in Antarctica with loss of three crew. Hope you guys are still doing well
@sailingcalypso3 ай бұрын
Yes, we learnt so much on Monsoon, our Sadler 32. We enjoyed sailing her in the bay, but couldn't imagine crossing an ocean on her like you did on yours. I didn't know about SV Berserk! Hectic stuff. We are all well. Currently in the Bahamas. How are you? Are you still in SA?

Thinking about one of these as my first boat. Was holding out for a Wauquiez Centurion 32 but they rarely come up (in UK). How did you find this with four adults on board? PS. Great family dynamics you have there mate.

Hi there. I watched all your videos about Monsoon and ended up being the new owner!! ;)

Did you buy her from Tim? Will you sail out of Saldanha Bay Yacht Club? Hope to see you in Kraal Baai
@stuartdorman73972 жыл бұрын
@@sailingcalypso Yes I did. She is currently moored at Club Mykonos.

It was with amazement that I found your videos about Monsoon. I found her abandoned on the Gariep dam and restored her to most of what you see. Even the knife is still on the chart table post and the braai still on the stern! I trust she went to someone also loving her as she is a trustworthy boat with a lot of history!
@sailingcalypso2 жыл бұрын
Many thanks for the reply....just saw this comment now. I sold her to a guy who now sails her out of Saldanha Bay Yacht Club and I understand that she is back on the market. She still looks the same as when I sold her. She was a great little boat.

I am considering going with Good Hope Sailing academy , Although buying your boat is tempting I dont have enough dosh yet....pity. I'm just watching your videos now and its a good boat. It will be a very good buy and if I may ask how much are your looking for her?

Good Hope are great - did all my training with them. Boat is on the market for R250 000
@mynhardtsaayman16 жыл бұрын
Hensh 250K is a steal for your boat, you did invest a lot of time and money in doing repairs and upgrades......if I had the dosh you would have a buyer. Until then I will watch and do my courses.

looks like a pain in the ass to get the main up lady Helen 9 seconds
@sailingcalypso7 жыл бұрын
It sure was that time. It was the first time we put up the main since the rig was replaced and the main sail sliders were all out of the track, so I had to feed all the sliders into the track and put the split pin back. It's much quicker normally! Only issue we have is the battens getting caught in the lazy jacks!

Hi Andrew. Nice video. Could you share your sailing eperience abpout the leopard 40 ? How did you apreciate it ? Pros and cons . I am considering buying one, and i try to get as much information as i can. Thanks. Pierre
@sailingcalypso7 жыл бұрын
Hi cobalt 60 -the boat was great, a big improvement on the previous version. The new layout makes it feel much bigger than 40 foot and bigger than the lagoon etc at a similar size. We had 7 adults on board with not ever feeling cramped for space. Sailing was easy - all lines running back to the helm. as always on a cat, one feels removed from the sailing so to speak - all seems so easy and one can sail in 20 knots without spilling drinks! One must remember to reef at certain wind speeds - an easy task on the leopard. Forward door is great for getting wind thru the boat at anchor. Only negative is that the boat is primarily built for charter (about 5 kilometers from my house here in Cape Town, South Africa) so can feel a bit plasticky - too much epoxy and not enough wood but that said I would buy the boat in a heartbeat if I had the cash. Loads of storage, even under the bridge deck sole. All in all a great boat in my humble opinion. All the best...
