@@GeekExplorers I don't think my wallet thanked me I spent about £250 now theres a big hole lol & I know what your saying you sometimes never know whats going to be there I probably see a couple of things I might have picked up like aliens & predator stuff but not a great deal probably to much anime Japanese type stuff there & not enough other stuff maybe should be a bit more even also should add some different things then last year as darleks was there again but it's just my opinion at least you enjoyed it did you pick up much

So many sad times for a collectors wallet 😂 Lucky for me I’m into anime so happy for that side of it. MCM’s great if you’re into loads of stuff due to broadness but not so good if you’re only into some niches. Yeah largely Transformers, a Gears, Crankcase, Wheeljack and Jihaxus. Then a bunch of those Blockees model kits, prints and a couple of graphic novels. I tend not to include all my pickups in my videos as this one was bloated enough haha.

Thank you, it never felt particularly busy to me, even popped outside on Saturday lunch time and there was no queue to get back in. The isles were big and there was so much space allotted for food that I think it helped to relieve the pressure on the rest of the Con floor. Or it could have been busy and I’m just totally oblivious to it 😂 There was a House of Dragons display for the new series but there was constantly a queue to sit on the throne so I skipped it and I totally forgot to film the BBC Doctor Who display. Hopefully there’ll be more movie and TV things in October. Deffo looking forward to what Hasbro do for Transformers at the next one. I’m looking forward to seeing how it links up with EGX. Temped to check it out?

There’s definitely some high end prices, though there’s also some good deals. Everything I picked up was much cheaper than I’d seen online so thought I got some great deals. I guess it comes down to demand and market price. I had a great time, down to the people and the fun of hunting. It is essentially a massive market so just depends how much you enjoy toy hunting as to how much you’d enjoy the fair.

Presumably the prices are based on the venue costs, market demand a business viability. While I agree the early entry is expensive I felt like I got really good value for money. The prices I paid for everything I purchased was far better than if I had picked them up online. Plus met loads of awesome people and had a really fun day out, I’ll deffo be going again. That’s awesome, everyone has different expectations and experiences when they go to conventions. I had a fun time, mostly down to all the great people I spoke to. The convention itself has been even better in the past, hopefully this is just a blip and they’ll improve next time. It’s the same company and venue and still Showmasters buts it’s their flagship event. It’s called the London Film and Comic Con. It runs for three days Friday to Sunday. It’s bigger than the Spring event, normally it’s the arrival hall and the main hall from Spring plus the upstairs, although last year was smaller as they didn’t make use of the arrival hall. They didn’t give any indication of the reduced size in advance last year so it was a bit of a surprise.

When I go to MCM London I’m there from the Thursday to the Sunday evening as the Con runs Friday to Sunday. I just take a big backpack but pack super light, clothes I travel in plus underwear for each additional day, alternate T shirts and a wash kit. My wash kits pretty compact as I’m happy using the hotel soap etc. I take a backpack as I spend the Thursday checking out London my the mobility of a backpack is really useful. If I was heading straight to the Con it wouldn’t make to much difference between a backpack and a small wheelie suitcase. On the return I’ve normally my backpack plus my tote back full of purchases. When I went to Retro Con in Philadelphia I was there for 10 days and took just carry on luggage which was plenty. As far as the Funko for signing goes I’d double check on the website to see if there’s any restrictions or you could drop them an email. It won’t hurt to take it with you the worst case scenario is he’ll only sign the provided items, ie photos or posters, occasionally I’ve heard of actors charging extra to sign toys and collectibles. Flyings fun, so you don’t need to be worried, have a great time and thank you for subbing, cheers!

The convention itself was disappointing, I had a really good time last March. Though the day itself was good for me, spoke to lots of cool people and had fun. Though I was done by 3, it would have been sooner if I wasn’t filming. As I said in the video, there were notable omissions, no idea if this is going to be a continuing trend, as well bearing in mind last July also shrank in size. There didn’t seem to be a time table for the panels where the main stage was which was annoying. It was busy, well busier than I expected, particularly compared to the Friday of July last year. I’m not able to make July this year, I’m curious to see if it returns to its normal size. It did look like maybe the back of the panel space had recently had some building work done there so I’m not sure if that had an impact on the shrunken convention. Thanks for the comment, cheers!

You’re right, £24 doesn’t seem much but costs can escalate quickly, transport, lunch, shopping etc. Budgets can be tight especially in the current climate. I spent a bucket load on getting back and fourth, plus ticket etc.

Agreed, that would be really fun if they added props and more to the backdrops. Although I don’t Cosplay backgrounds for photos are great fun. I think there’s a community up north with small gatherings and events. There’s normally a Steam punk stand at both Mega Con and MCM Birmingham. It’s worth chatting to the stand holders as they’re friendly and would probably be able to recommend Steam Punk groups near to you if you’re interested.
