Areas that are very important (high importance) with below average ratings are always yellow flags that should be be understood and discusses, because they may be an indicator of imminent opportunities or threats that may need to be addressed

Hi there, great question! If you can find external assessments from reputable sources, such as consultants, industry publications, industry experts, they can eliminate some of the internal bias one may have when assessing their own company or industry. If not, try to get a panel of experts in your organization, from different functions or departments (which can also be your planning team), to discuss and agree not only on CSFs, but their weights and ratings. It is important to remind these panelist to be consistent and as unbiased as possible when assessing your organization and competitors alike, Biased analyses may compromise the purpose of the whole exercise.
