Yeah it can be, the way the awning is strapped down in the video is the best way I have found, but the awning is connected to frame via velcro so I find that flaps around a bit, but nothing too wild

$ 70, 990, base price (with things to make it fully functional like fridge, bbq, awnings, etc optional that can add tens of 000's) for basically a nice tent sitting on a trailer with a small food prep area and a bit of storage. No toilet nor shower. Quality is very good no doubt. But $ for $ I it's not value for money. It's just too expensive for what it is. I think 75% of their current selling price is the sweet spot for X3 and X1 models.
@rogdedodge72583 жыл бұрын
To be fair Rob the external shower annex is preferable to showering in a phone box with a toilet in the corner. Unless I missed it this thing could do with some kind of internal kitchen for when your rained in. Basically mate if you look at what $80k will get you in terms of a new caravan/motor home compared to this, there's a gulf in quality and design that would really come into play at the 5yr mark. I'm not sure how feasible it would be to put some kind of entertainment setup in there, but that would be a must.
@robschultz3323 жыл бұрын
@@rogdedodge7258 I'm actually not comparing outside and inside toilets mate. I've just pointed out that for the base price of $71k this unit still has no fridge, bbq, awning, shower and toilet (etc) to make it fully functional. And if I may add, camper trialer is not apple for apple compraison to caravans. Have you ever counted how many Aussie products are there in the world market (except for minerals and agricultural products)? Very few. Why? Not bec we can't produced good products, we sure can. The problem is pricing. Things produced in straya are almost always more expensive than similar (or even better spec) products produced in North America and Europe. My dream is to see the Australian manufacturing sector produce quality products in more competitive prices.

I have been talking to the US distributor since the X3 was announced but just can't bring myself to purchase on. Taxes in the US are the big problem as you have to pay taxes year after year on them. Also, Are they bug and mosquito proof (I have been told they are not), can you power wash the X3 and the contents in the X3 say dry, what are your thoughts about the Webasto heater? I have watched a few DIY Webasto repair videos and they are more involved that I care to undertake. I hear the propane heaters are the better more reliable option.

Late reply. It's not suitable for Nordic climates but it helps on a chilly Australian night. The catch22 is when you zipup and get it pumping, you get the sauna effect. Easier to sleep in a sub-zero sleeping bag. It's basically to take the chill out but you'll still be dressed heavy
