20:01 nobody in high school during this time had an answer for an offense this advanced, combined that with Evangel having the vast resources to attract so many highly ranked athletes, it’s easy to see why they were the best high school team in the county during these years.
@Waterboy5152
@Waterboy5152 3 ай бұрын
Because evangel was able to buy and recruit their players. When you can do that you will almost always beat other schools who can nlt do that. They got away with alot pf stuff that other schools would never get away with. Do people really think that they just got all these athlets to go to evangel on their own

Man, im from the New Orleans area, graduated from O. Perry Walker in 1988 and even down there we knew these Independence/Amite matchups were some of the best you were gonna get in the entire state. One of the rivalries we waited for all year.

I'm an old Southeastern graduate ('67), an LAA Member and a long-term fan of Lion Athletics. My wife and I watch SLU games (all sports) on ESPN Plus from our home in Texas and we always get back to Hammond for Homecoming and at least one baseball game per year. We have also really enjoyed your great podcasts. We find your commentary to be very inciteful, honest and informative. Your choice of guests has been really good too. Your game broadcasts are also outstanding. Please keep up the great work - THANKS! Question: What in the world happened to our offense in the game with Nicholls? Some play calls seemed really strange at key times. Where was Eli Sawyer when it was obvious fairly early that Zachery Clements was having issues with his passing? As good as our defense played overall and I was really proud of them, it was still a very depressing game overall. I'll be interested in hearing Coach Scelfo's comments about the offensive performance next Monday night on his radio show. Thanks again and Best Regards Bob Lion Up !!

Hey Bob, thank you for reaching out - your comments are greatly appreciated. We started this podcast precisely for folks like you! Glad you enjoy and find them useful. As for your question: Our inbox has been flooded with similar questions. We do not have a good answer other than the staff went with the plan they felt was best against Nicholls. Obviously the plan didn't work. We will have more comments on our football wrap up segment next week. Again, thank you for watching and thanks for the positive feedback. It means a great deal to us!

An alarmingly bad call in a game full of bad calls, with visiting Tarleton State (a non-Southland Conference member being whistled for 0 penalties in the entire game). The Southland Conference should act to censure and remove members of this crew from future conference games. The referee should not officiate another game.
