Kennedy Jones was not the inventor of finger picking. Black players were doing in the South too.

In the title it states the year as 1986. But at the very end of the video the date 1994 is displayed. However old Paul was at the time this instructional video was made Paul sure could play !!!

THUMB PICKING IS WAY OLDER THAN ANY AMERICAN. MY GRANDMOTHER PLAYED THE STEEL STRING GUITAR BEFORE MEREL TRAVIS. TWO HAND GUITAR PLAYING IS AS OLD AS THE GUITAR AND YOU MUST INCLUDE THE BANGING ON THE GUITAR,… MY FAMILY IS BASQUE AND WE ARE FROM SAN SABASTIAN AND BIARRITZ SPAIN. SHEEP FARMERS WHO CAME TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN 1870’s. I LOVE THE KENTUCKY STYLE!!!!

I think I was there that year. I remember seeing Buster in a wheelchair and his wife. I asked her if they felt special because they were friends with Chet. She thought for a second then said "Yes, I guess we do". Lovely people. I never will forget that. I hade to 😂 when Chet said "I was 4F...they said I had a weak thumb" !!!
