from my armchair it looks like the hit encompassed the shoulder and the head, the power off button on the jar was definitely hit, you dont see many flops that look that genuine if it wasnt genuine, if your hit includes the head im not callign it clean

Thats not a good hit. Torts is right it should have been called. Pretty clear blindside hit that appears to make initial contact with the head. Wouldnt be surprised to see a leage review regardless of the on ice call.

Principal point of contact looked to be the head. The shoulders may have scraped on each other but the hip turn took the shoulders offline from each other and combined with the the upward motion made the head the main point of contact. The angle at 0:36 looks quite clear to me. If he doesn't turn his hip or stays knees bent then contact is made at the shoulder or in the chest. Likely deserves a supplemental discipline given the Flyer player didn't make any last second moves or turns himself.

I know it's a dumb take but Mcdavid is the one player where I think he should get passes on stuff like this. He probably deals with more than any 2 players combined. So the only way to make it fair (other than calling the game properly which we know won't happen) is for the refs and league to give him passes. But if people really want him held to the same standard don't complain when he's drawing 4 penalties minimum a game.

Jojo left the game, bleeding, and did not return. If he is out any length of time it needs to be fined. Not calling a penalty during the game was pathetic by the refs.

It looked like extreme embellishment but he might have hit him perfectly on the tip, possibly braking his nose. Hopefully the refs made the right call having access to different angles. It looked so subtle but that might be deceiving.

There are players that use up good will and end up victim to some career AHL er via cheapshot or questionable play like the sorts out of L'Heureux or Matt Rempe or the baby giraffe on skates Logan Stanley. I would not lose sleep over it. He has used up what good will I thought he deserved. For those that think cheap shots like elbows and slewfoot are funny, with til it's Macjesus that gets it.
