@@daveengstrom9250 no problem trimming it shorter. I took off about 1 inch/ 30mm . I am still using it with 12ft wire radials attached and the SWR is 1:1 - 1:5 on 40m.

Went to a conference once when they came up to Rotherham about 20 years ago but not been to any ham do's for years. They are usually too far away. I only got 6 pictures as the transmission was always the same set all week over EU. I suspect the same thing on the other side of the globe but they probably just got the other 6. They should have randomly sent them so we get a chance of different pictures. I kept getting the same ones every time lol. Still enjoyable but shame it was that way

I have been lucky and have made 3 QSO with different astronauts over a 20 year period lol. It's not that often and usually quick but definitely a top buzz for sure. ​@@andy2E0JIU

@@M0YKSHamRadio I only pull mine out every once in awhile and it seems like each time I do I try to figure out how to use it again without reading the manual. I end up accidentally saving additional memories of the things I've been trying to delete for years lol. Thanks again for the video. It helped me confirm that there's not really a way to delete them. I might just reset the radio and start from scratch.

Hi buddy quite often I turn it on with the second tone burst. Especially later in the evening when it's quiet. I hit it earlier than most EU.

Didn't they accidentally turn off the AO-91? I try to access it after 20:00, there is no way before, but in response there is silence. I don’t even see the presence of AO-91 😄

AO-91 got a bad power cell so it only works in sunlight

It moves frequency as it is travelling so fast it's called Doppler shift or Doppler correction

@@justmejonboy these are low earth orbiting LEO SATs. That's why they move so fast as they are closer to earth so it's more noticeable

​@@dean8223 that's a bit of a let down to hear. You defo need a decent example of amateur radio equipment set up to actually demonstrate it working. A must If we are going to attract young people to keep up our radio signals into the future. every opportunity should be fully taken advantage of and the use of good visual stimulation of a Sat station working is a good start. Skype/Internet are equally as useful but not as cool as RF and Radio. The shot in the video does show some equipment so maybe they did it properly this time. Either way a big success for all involved and well done everyone. I for one enjoyed it. 73
