The are not laying new track. They are simply unloading new rail for the rail team.

How are they so long? Or are they joined in the fly?

Railroad rail is made in a steel mill to lengths of 90 ft. or so. The rail is then sent to a welding mill to weld it into lengths of approximately 1440 ft. long. After installation, the strings of rail are field welded either electrically or with thermite.
We watched and filmed this in our town but I'm not sure the video is the best.

If you’ll don’t know this was in Sydney Australia, and this station unfortunately closed on the 5th January 2020 and all the tracks were removed and the station was demolished

Laying new 'RAIL' not new tracks. The track is already in place.

How do these tracks bend like a poop?
@bigkiwimike4 жыл бұрын
It’s just one of the physical properties of long lengths of steel. Once you lay them onto the sleepers however, the rails become very strong.

1:30 what is that weird sound. Somebody please explain it to me.
@chrisworld24 жыл бұрын
It’s the sound of things banging into/banging on the rail as it is pulled from the cars and dropped. The end of the rail was probably bouncing along before that strip of rail was fully dropped. Sound travels along the rail much like any other I-beam and makes that sound. You can hear it on any rail line that is fully welded at a pretty good distance from an approaching train, some cases a 1/4 mile. There’s a freight line near me that has welded rail and makes these eerie sounds up to about that distance before the train approaches even as slow as 20-25 mph. I have to record it some time, it’s a crazy sound. So as you hear less jointed rail sounds, the new modern welded rail makes an entirely new type of sound.

JR probably the rail catching on something and then slipping off of it all within a millisecond or something. If you hit one with a sledge hammer while it was being held in the air it’d make a similar noise I’d assume

Why are they laying new tracks if there are already tracks?
Its pooping out that track like its had plenty of fiber. 2:14 drops it into the toilet
