My only gripe about this awesome monitor is that doesn't have an internal speaker for listening to the audio during the video recorded.

The longer comment below speaks my words exactly.. Menu's... deal with it. autofocus... get different optics. Battery life.... already solved. photos.... somewhat disagree, but was designed for a different purpose. 8 bit. Ok you got a point IF YOU NEED IT. If that is critical, find a 10 bit camera. What I hear is a lot of semi lame excuses. However, the a7Siii is a game changer. Every one of your objections has been dealt with and even surpasses the most stringent demands. It is almost revered. But the a7iv is also a game changer too that takes stunning pictures . Sony is world class. Stick with it.

Thanks for the comment. I'm currently using lumix Gh5's for video and a Sony a7riii for photography. Looking to go sony for video again soon

@@hmh301 have stuck with Sony for good and bad. I started with the Canon 5D2 and loved it. Game changer 10 years ago. Great color - still amongst the best. But the Sony was light years ahead in low light, paint, audio, beautiful images. Started with the FS100, expensive in its day, but huge in many areas that Canon did not provide - plus great audio, playback, true cinema camera design - sorta. And that is when Sony started into lens design - and boy, did they deliver. A few each year, but what optics. Equal to Zeiss or better. Then the A7 series~! Wow. and 3-5 types too~! Sure I heard about Panasonic and the rave reviews but my Zeiss manual optics (10 of them) worked on e-mount plus anything else out there. How can you beat that? I coveted the A7ii but when the a7iii came out, I snatched one right away and never looked back. Canon wasn't even on the radar screen, or just about not on the screen. I am used to the Sony system despite a few flaws. Menu system is a bit of a pain, but so what, learn it. It works and has many options that Canon just does not have the same kind - like reprogramming any button to any function - can't beat that~! Plus use any lens with adapter. And Sony is dead serious about making world class stuff. They are all in and it is a monster corporation where no expense is spared to be the best. And they deliver. From wee consumer to Hollywood and more, the have it all covered and learn from each department. Look at the Bravia TV's - incredible. Microphones, TV cameras, studio gear etc. Sure Canon and Arri and others have their market, but Sony has it all covered. I will put up with the iddy biddy flaws because I know fully well, when they come out with the next iteration, it will rock as the a7Siii did.

@@hillsmediahouse with the Em1 m3 … hm it would be interesting for me to get to know how to „pimp“ the lense with additional lenses or rings to get more near to an object and if this can be also used then for excampfle for the 60mm macro later. I saw something that could be used on the 60mm but not ig the same stuff can be used on the 12-40. But maybe ghat is not possible anyhow :) Sorry if it was confusing 🙈🙈🙈

Very impressed that you are using the G85 for work projects. The lenses are really what matters, and your trinity of Sigma 1.4’s are top notch. What brought me to your videos was your review of the 12-40/2.8, which I use myself with the GH5/GH5II… …

Thank you for leaving the comment. The g85's are so versatile in the real world environment. I now use a gh5 as the main cam with the g85's being backups and b cam. They are great when recording multi angle events. The sigmas are absolutely incredible lenses and the olly 12-40 is still in very high use with gh5

It's an awesome camera new or used for the price. I was going to buy one but at the time of my purchase the g95 was on sale for the same price of the g85 new. I got the g95. Honestly I'm finding the m4/3 system is awesome and extremely compatible in range of lenses. Man I can adapt any lense including vintage with an adapter/speedbooster. I can't express how pleased I am with the performance of this lumix camera. Coming from the Canon system I'm prefering this over the M50. Yes this g85 or g95 will address needs in multiple areas. The profiles in camera for video at the price point is insanely cheap. I'm heading to get the g9 and the gh5II . For video and stills. Forgot to mention I'm enjoying 4k no recording limits.. lol ( subscribed and thanks for sharing your images and videos. I'm also enjoying apsc and full frame lenses on my g95. You're correct the difference is jaw dropping. )

Hello, I bought the a7sii in 2017 for not expensive, and I was also disappointed at the beginning, (I have in 5Dii and a d800e) so the colors, the autofocus, the autonomy can be disappointing it's true. However after several years I learned to adjust it to have breathtaking images at night. you should know that it is a different camera that was designed above all to take pictures in low light, it is only intended for specialized audiences. For the autofocus the speed depends on the optics (I have a 55 zeiss, it is very fast, even if it is slower than on the A7III 12 mpx is sufficient to shoot photos in A3 format (don't confuse size and resolution, the problem you are talking about disappears when printed) in video the 4.2.0 8 bit XAVCs is criticized but nevertheless very easy to calibrate to give a cinema look in slog and the cine4sgamut is excellent in low light up to 51000 iso (even at 160,000 iso is correct) the same log . it takes up very little space on a hard drive. the a7s ii is a very difficult camera to use because it requires knowing the camera well and its many flaws (nothing to do with a leica where everything is interactive) as I do cinema, I don't need autofocus , stabilization, and the battery is a v-mount. my biggest worry is overheating which can turn off the box for safety. Thanks for this comprehensive review, I speak French so unfortunately I didn't understand everything.

Thank you for comment, you are pretty spot on with your detailed comment and I agree with you in many ways. It did have some great low light capabilities but unfortunately that was shadowed by all the other stuff that didn't work in its favour.
